I'm also looking to switch to a battery powered lawn mower and interested in Greenworks 80v at Costco for $600… is this a better deal than the Greenwork lawnmower? Thanks
You can always return the mower at Costco which is why many buy it. I heard good things about it. Also 8 yr warranty on batteries.

I used to have the older single blade model and it did a terrible cut, mulch left large grass clippings instead of finely chopping them which led to a lot of thatch build up. Is this dual blade system better now?

Can someone advise? KBG grass out in Colorado.

I had the original single blade 5 years ago and returned it after 3 uses as the battery needed to be recharged twice to do my entire 1/2 acre lot and the cut was terrible. I have the LM2135SP with 3rd Gen10 ah battery and use the High lift blade for an amazing cut.

Does the return policy allow you to use it and return if you don't like it? How well would you need to clean it? 🤔

has someone stated the order of operation to start might be confusing to your MIL it is simple, however it's like anything new.

it is very light compared to a gas. the propel might not be needed has much. however you could find a way to set the Pace of it. if the slowest works good you could wrap the dial up. that way she would not twist it on accident and possibly get hurt. It gets up and goes on fast.
She knows the basic workings of a self propelled mower.
Her problem is a big yard, with lots of obstacles necessitating a lot of back and forth motions, and her getting tired and forgetting to let go of the sp drive handle.

I need a mower with rubber self propel gears, lol.

Yes. You don't have to clean it, but be a good neighbor and do clean it.

No, it was $599. If you apply for their credit card, they give you a 20% discount on your first purchase, but the maximum discount is $100, so I paid $538, out the door.

my greenworks mower lasted for 6 years, and while the batteries did get worse they didn't get that much worse
I just got the greenworks 80v 21" aluminum deck mower with two batteries plus charger at Costco for $599. The batteries have 8 yr warranty and it is very good. Mowed about 1,000 sq ft with battery still half on 4Ah. Has some high grass too. The best thing about Costco is that I can return the mower anytime no questions asked.

So I bought this at Lowe's in store. Has anyone had success returning just the promotional free battery in store? The receipt shows the extra 5 ah battery price of $199.44 and the lawn mower price of $399.56.

This is also on sale at your local Ace Hardware:

Support local
Yeah, I really wanted to support local and placed my order through Ace Hardware online. After 4 days of waiting, today they sent me an email that my order was canceled with no explanation of why. Luckily Amazon still has this deal going on. Though Ace also wasted me a special promotion of 2x reward points. Sad.
