New wording for Metro unlock policy:

The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...

I was thinking about getting the Nord N30 - just need a couple of them for family members.

I currently use Mint, 15/month plan.

Will the phone become unlockable after 180, even if I only paid for the first month with Metro (and start using it with mint later on)?

Hihihi you are not alone dude. I think I am going to waste $60 on the GV fee (20 times of ordering) to order the Razr. I want this phone badly. It is still cheaper than buying from eBay. Oh by the way, does anyone know how many times Google allows you to get the new GV number in a single account? Because each time of unsuccessful in ordering, that GV number is no longer be usage any more for Metro ordering.
