Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...

Yes, but I didn't get many phones from Metro, only six since last May, including the two with the current promo. Most of the phones that I sold came from Google Fi and Tracfone.

I've tried ordering this phone 6 different times this week with no success and now they raised the price 😂

I ordered nord n30 last year about 55-60 times and recently A15 one time. I got approved instantly with BB ATT instantly. No trouble ordering anything from other merchants. Only metro. Never had service with them. Used every trick. No go.

Well the tracking number i received in my email from an order on March 1st says that the label was created and never shipped... When I try to track my order through the site, they have it a different tracking number and it was marked "returned" despite it never leaving Texas. So I'm at a complete loss at what I should do here. Any ideas?
Quote from Texas-Smokey :
Got the same exact situation, chatted with Metro rep and she said the phone is going back to their warehouse and I have to wait until they recieve it so they can initiate a refund, then wait 8-10 days to actually receive my refund, they are a joke
I've bought a few phones from Metro over the last year. The last one I ordered online in December showed, "Label Created..." all the way up to the day it was delivered.

With the three Android Metro phones (Samsung A54, Nokia G400, Nord N30) that I've unlocked, after 180 days you have to connect the phone to Wifi, go into Settings, select the Network Unlock function to get the phone unlocked. I don't see that option in my iPhone12. An iPhone is unlocked when its IMEI is added to an Apple database by the provider (Metro, Tracfone, StraighTalk, etc). You can check on www.sickw.com [sickw.com] for an iPhone's unlock status using its IMEI. So if you're buying a Metro iPhone, you can leave it in the box and check its unlock status on sickw after 180 days.
yeah, the concern part for me is that will Metro add the iphone IMEI to apple database to be unlocked since it never turned on and make any phone calls on the network. It's a $65 and 180 days betting. Just trying to not trigger apple's 1 year warranty and gift it away as brand new unlocked to relatives

If you are actually buying the phone to USE the phone in 2024 with 64 gigs of storage you are just hurting yourself. I'm not talking about getting a phone through service to trade it in
people use iPhone to flip for money!
if you are talking about memory you should not buy iPhone

I got the Motorola Stylus two weeks ago, was able to add iPhone11 ($0 + $40 plan) after transferring GV number. Did not have to pay $3 unlock fee, maybe because it was Google Fi number that I had transferred back to Google Voice. Not sure.

If I don't pay another $40 for next month plan for the Motorola , will I still be ok with the iPhone 11 plan since there is an overlap now and both will be under same account ?

I got my iPhone and had used Google voice for the transfer. Metro says it's activated, however the incoming calls or outgoing texts do NOT work. Only outgoing calls work.

So it seems the number has NOT been fully transferred from Google Voice. Anyone know what to do to fix this? Thanks.

After my order to add an iPhone11 as an additional device/line failed this morning, that account no longer has an "Add A Line" option. When I manually added an iPhone11 to the cart while logged in, I got the message "Sorry, you're not eligible to add a new line. Contact Support to discover the reason for ineligibility". Metro must've blacklisted the account.
I have the exact same thing. I think Metro is definitely blacklisting accounts.

Tried to order an iP 12 - gave a Xfinity Mobile (Verizon MVNO) number to port-in from. At first it said the number is eligible to port-in (as it should be), went on to enter Account, PIN, Payment details and then - "Oops, there was an issue..." happened.

Tried to start again, but now when I enter the same phone number it says this number is not eligible for port-in. What's wrong with Metro?

I ported in my GV number. Now after setup with the new iphone 11, it shows the correct phone number, and it can dial up to other phone; However, it can't receive calls. I checked and found all incoming calls/texts still went to the GV account.
Any luck with this? I have the same exact problem? Did yours get resolved? Thanks.

Well, as you can see Metro is extremely flaky.

I can't even add a line to my account to take advantage of a $20 tablet.
