Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

https://support.google.com/voice/...5667?hl=en

Account is GV Number no dashes and need Setup Voicemail PIN is Port PIN if not setup that yet

to setup the voicemail pin have go to settings and enable Call to listen Check and manage your voicemails by calling your Google Voice number.

https://voice.google.com/u/0/settings#voicemail
Your account number is your google voice phone number. The pin is the one you set up in Google voice to check voice messages.

Anyone's Google voice number fully port over? I'm still having the same issues, unable to receive text or calls after 5 days. Number is still sitting in Google voice, looks like not fully in Metro yet. The Google Voice just shows Delete button. When the number ports, the number should disappear from Google Voice.

I'm wondering if this is a system issue with metro, because it has been several days and the status hasn't changed. I'm wondering whether this would impact the unlock of the device? The device needs to be on metro network and be able to make/receive calls.

It did Ship says on the way and estimated delivery on Thursday.
That's a long way from needing the Activate button to be functional.

Has your phone been delivered yet? If no, why the hurry to activate it? If yes, go to Metro site-->scroll down to the bottom-->click on Activate (under the Support heading)-->enter your Order Number, last name, zip code to bring up the order-->Click on the ACTIVATE button.
I'm not the one who posted, but I was hoping to activate while my iPhone 12 is in transit because the service on the number I am porting ends in 4 days. I fear I am cutting it close.

Is it actually supposed to be removed from google voice? Also, once its removed, does it allow you to make a new google voice number with the same phone you used?

7 - 10 days for full port and can be longer. Be patient. Don't push that Delete button and leave it alone and it will disappear when done porting.

If you delete that button while your number is in the process of porting out from Google, you will run into problems with your number even you verify that it works correctly. Per Google instructions, Don't delete that number manually while the number is in the process.

Finally got a Razor order through...discovered all data has to match exactly, and only discovered a slight mismatch on my Numberbarn account. Even though I only moved across town, my zip had changed, and I had never updated the zip code in Numberbarn where I have several cool numbers parked. Once I updated the zip, I never saw 'let's verify you' stuff anymore, and the order processed quickly. I'd advise ensuring every data point you enter is perfect, or it will kick you back out, and this was about my dozenth time trying. Numberbarn is also a landline, like GV lines, and it say 3-10 days for a full transfer...Metro says won't actually move line until activation, so the 3-10 days starts then.

Technically after you received your phone and activated your account, you are allow to add a line, port in, get a phone with the plan of $30/month. So the iphone 12 will be $99+$30 per month instead of $99+$65, and same for all the other phones.

The issue is that I've tried many times, with different accounts, phone numbers, devices, browsers, internets, and there is no way you can add a new line with $30/month and get the phone.

Everytime at the last step after you filled out all the information, they said "Please contact us to complete your order. Your security is important to us. Unfortunately can't complete your order online. Our award-winning Mobile Experts are ready to assist you. Please call us or visit a store to continue." I called them every time, and I promise you they will not solve this issue.

Seems like you must use a new account to finish the payment and get the phone.
Yes , I believe they use some who knows what criteria to somehow flag accounts. I got 2 phones and the tablet in a span of 20 days all activated. I wanted to add a 3rd line/device and after entering all the info for the CC and submitting the payment METRO came back with the message that others have reported " Due to customer protection bluh bluh bluh and to go to one of their stores!!!" and with 2 different CC #s.
All these were done with CSR on the phone and even they couldn't explain what was happening. When I got a supervisor involved he was insisting that my ccards were the problem - mind you 2 different ones!!!!! The other orders were also done with CSRep because loging in to mymetro accnt it said I was not eligible. Mind you I was going to switch to them, because I am finishing the existing plan I have. But now we are staying put and keep looking, I didn't like the whole customer experience (they also kept messing up the existing plans with every new device purchase which wasted a lot of my time at the end of the day) and I see that there is throtling on their data speeds at times, so no go for me.

Got my Iphonne 11 , inserted the sim card ( turned phone on and off a few times - waited 15 minutes )and when dialing out it would't do it and kept connecting to t-mobile.
Tried to activate at Metro but was showing activated ( it wasn't - didnt get the confermation email ) . Dialed out again ( to my other phone number ) , got t-mobile again , they transfered me to Metro and Metro rep had to manually activate the phone .Then I received th email .
Am I the only one that had this problem ?

Added an iphone 12 to my account. Phone is delivered, activated, data is working and shows up on my account page.

Never once did I get an email about this line. No order confirmation, no shipping email, no activation email.

Its not in my spam, not anywhere.

I'm lucky I took a screen shot of my initial order. Without that order number I would have been screwed.

Everything in my account is accurate. Its for a second line in an account I made a week ago. The first line received emails per normal.
