Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

https://support.google.com/voice/...5667?hl=en

Account is GV Number no dashes and need Setup Voicemail PIN is Port PIN if not setup that yet

to setup the voicemail pin have go to settings and enable Call to listen Check and manage your voicemails by calling your Google Voice number.

https://voice.google.com/u/0/settings#voicemail
Your account number is your google voice phone number. The pin is the one you set up in Google voice to check voice messages.

Just put the sim card in the phone. Make some calls with it. To be safe do this over a couple of days. This ensures it is registered on Metro system. Then power it off and stick it in a drawer. Make sure autopay is turned off on your account. No need to pay more account fees. After 180 days power it up and look for the unlock app or option and unlock it. If it doesn't work right away try the next day.
Sorry, 1 question after port is in success do we need to maintain line active for 1 month? Is it apply activation charges also?

I have been told to keep track of your sim card until after the unlock completes. Seems you might need to put it back in if the unlock initially fails.

I submitted an order 2 days ago with a Tracfone number to port. Order did not go through, and even worse, Tracfone now says my number cannot be found in their system Frown
Just got a $3 Google Voice number today and new order didn't complete either after having gotten all the way to payment info.
Where are you getting the $3 google voice number from?
Is there another cheap way to get a number to transfer if I don't want to mess with my GV number?

You can keep trying until the ACTIVATE button is functional.
Thank you! Activate button worked this morning and received a follow up email reflecting an activation date of 3/12. Phone should be delivered tomorrow. Fingers crossed the port went through!

I am on month 12 of mint mobile. What's the best time to port out of mint to get value while not losing too much of your prepaid time? 7 days before?

Yes - if you have an unlocked phone (ideally with a spare eSIM slot), you can just spend $5 on Visible or Tello for a new number instantly.

no, it has to be activated when received. I have it and like it better than the Moto Stylus. Much longer support with Samsung too.
I ordered another Samsung A15 from QVC yesterday for my senior friend. This QVC deal is $85. with using the $15. off code NEW2024 for new customers (I've ordered previous items), but I used a different email and it gave me the discount. It comes with the 1500 talk, text, data, case, cig lighter power cord, standard power cord and the plug of which my A15 from Total did not come with the plug. I like the 60 day unlock on Verizon vs the 6 month wait on Metro. Solid phone regardless of carrier.
I guess when you bought it must have been on sale for $99.99. I will probably get one if it drops to that price again. Was it Saturday morning when you bought yours.

Spare eSIM slot?
Most eSIM comparable phone supports up to 10 eSIM profiles...there are plenty spare eSIM "slot"!

How is the iphone 11 vs iphone 12? Assuming the total price of the 11 would be $120 and the 12 is $170, which is a better deal?

What's the best way to deal with the "your Security is important to us - please visit our store" error? Does using a different credit card or computer help? Thanks.
It's not even asking identification questions at this pt.
Yeah I had to use a different card today and it worked finally

purchased Saturday afternoon at 5pm. Delivery shows this Friday. The first one I purchased was last month from Total by Verizon for free with port in then add the $50. plan. It came to $53. If you don't need the included Tracfone plan (you also get a basic case and charger plug of which these items are not included with Total) get the Total phone. Very little bloatware with these and no Total by Verizon screen flashed. Much cleaner than the Moto's.
