Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

How are people adding 2nd and 3rd phones for the $30 plan? I bought 1 iPhone 12 and then I tried to do it again for a 2nd one and I kept getting errors. I tried on incognito under my partner's info and that worked but total was like $173 with $65 plan plus taxes....

The way others are doing it, I could've saved $30? Do you have to wait to get your phone to make an account? When I hit login with my ported number and the pin I made up, it gives me error so I'm thinking I would have to have phone in hand to receive that initial text to activate the account?! So confused! Already did it but greedy me is interested in doing the deal again if I can do it for $30....lol

Get a phone, activate, make account. In the account you will see an option to add a line.
While the 2nd phone ships, the option to add a line wont show up anymore. just activated 2nd phone and now I see an option to add another line and its showing me $30 +$99. very tempted to add a 3rd one.

I've been using my first iPhone while on metro data to place the orders.

I figured they are tracking IP addresses/IMEI. Having it come from the phone in the account would help with the fraud algorithm.

But you managed to get 3 of the same phone right?

I had asked support and they told me the limit is 2 of the same promo per family per address. But if you guys are able to order more than 2 I guess I will also get one more.

Gotta say I think the S23 FE is the best deal even if it's not the best bang for the buck. It's a $550 phone for $90 w/ port in. Well, of course it is…it's the only one not in stock.

iPhone 12 is like a 4 year old phone at this point. I'm not even sure how there's still new stock available but used ones aren't worth very much. I wouldn't even consider the 11 at this point. It's going to lose OS updates very soon.

Razr - it's alright I guess but I'd want a functional outside screen otherwise there's little point in the flip IMO.

The rest - meh.

I have two in my possession. The third has an order number and is pending shipping. I guess they could cancel the order, but I've never heard metro doing that (unlike Tracfone).

That's the gist of it. The S23FE might be the best deal, but if it's not available for online orders, that doesn't mean squat.

It's actually better with a smaller screen for Razr because it won't drain your battery, which is the biggest complain among Razr + owners. Small screen is sufficient to check what (if any) incoming messages/emails you might have and decide if you want to actually check them (or just to check weather, temp, date, time, etc.

I'm hesitant to order another stylus because the s23fe might come back in stocks before I get a chance to activate the stylus.

I think Metro is keeping inventory artificialy low on the best phones so people will be forced to go inside a Metro store aka "den of thieves" and get ripped off hard. I want to get the s23fe and surprise surprise "sold out" lol yeah sure
