I didn't give any birthday or SSN to Metro, but Metro asked me some questions for verifying identity. All the questions were not related to me, so I got all wrong answers.
The info that Metro (or the ID verification software) uses comes from a vast database of public and non-public data. If you ever owned a vehicle and bought insurance, your insurance companies have your DOB, driver license number, the type of vehicles you owned, past and present addresses, relatives who are/were on your auto policies and their personal info, etc. The insurance companies sold your information. If you own a house, your name, address, type of housing are in the county's Appraiser database which is public info. When you placed an order with Metro, you provided your name and shipping address. That's enough for them to match you with someone in their database. Granted, there could be a case of mistaken identity, but a lot of times those questions/answers are dead on.
Just for grins, do a Google search of your name and address and you'll be shocked by how much of your personal info is out there on the Internet.

When I opened an account somewhere online I was asked about one of the addresses I lived at in the past. I didn't recognize it at first, but it was a little scary to know so much is saved about us. The answer was a place I lived at as a kid.

Yes, it's scary how much of your info is out there. One time I was asked about an address which was an apartment that I rented over 40 yrs ago when I was in college. I had renter's insurance, so that insurance company probably sold my info. Also, if they have your SSN, they will know that you lived in that State/US Terriories at one time because the xxx-xx part of your SSN can be decoded to show when/where your SSN was issued. https://stevemorse.org/ssn/ssn.html
I have activated a new Visible number (Verizon) and have tried to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, but every time I type the number and add the phone to the Cart, the price raises and no discount is applied. No issues when trying the iPhone SE though. What may be wrong? Am I trying too soon? I activated the line around ~1h ago.

Is the phone number a new one that Visible assigned to you, or a number that you had with a T-mo provider and tried to "wash" it by porting to Visible? Check the number using this link and see which carrier it shows https://www.carrierlookup.com/

You can keep checking the order status using the order number, your name, and zip code. SOMETIMES the ACTIVATE button is "clickable" before the phone is delivered. Sometimes it won't until the phone has been delivered. In either case, you can activate the SIM without having to open the box and install the SIM. However, I've read a post from someone who used to be a Metro dealer and he said Metro might not unlock the phone if it was never connected to Metro network to make some calls/texts. Plus, if the phone is not taken out of the box, it can't receive the security code that Metro sends to it whenever you want to log into your Metro account.
Hello! This is my first time doing this, so I thought I could ask here.
I'm expecting my new phone to arrive Monday. I was able to use a Google number as the new number to port. I already have phone service with Metro. My question is, since I just want to swap my old phone with the new one, do I need to activate the new phone with the Google number first? Or will I just be able to do a regular phone transfer using the My Metro app? Thanks! (I hope I explained it clearly.)

With Metro you can't just swap sims (you need to register the phone's IMEI to the line you want to use it on first) -- my guess would be you won't be able to use the same IMEI for 2 lines so you'll need to do 2x device swaps
- Activate new line using online order status page then wait until you have phone in hand
- Use online account or Metro app to switch device on new line to another phone's IMEI (in order to free up new phone IMEI from Metro)
- Use online account or Metro app to switch device on old line to your new phone's IMEI (so now old line's using the new phone)
- You can do another device swap if you want to use your old phone's IMEI for new line

This phone has not been available online for a long time. That may be the issue. I did enter a tracfone number and the price increased from $49.99 to $199.99, so it's not a problem with your line.
ETA - it may have been the S21, but neither are available.
Trying to order and ran into "unable to verify your payment address, call 8METRO8."...is this the unable to verify your identity that many people have run into or simply due to my account being tied at a p.o. box? has anybody else had this same problem and called and gotten it to work? or am I sol? and no I do not have any different cards to try. Yes, I did try calling it and it said, "thanks for calling...it's after hours." and hung up on me (assume I have to wait until business hours.)

Your problem is different from the ID verification process in which they ask about people you know, your past addresses, your vehicles, etc. Metro ships by UPS which doesn't deliver to a P.O. box. If your credit card billing address is a P.O. box, then they can't match your delivery address to your billing address. I have no ideas how they will resolve it.
Is the best way to take advantage of this deal to make a Google Voice number, get it unlocked, use that number to transfer phone number, then if the order goes through take off autopay and let it sit for 6 months until it unlocks? I currently use US Mobile and I don't really want to switch to Metro. Thank you.

* GV is one of the cheap ways to port-in a number. However, most likely you'll run into the same problem like the rest of us did. The GV number will be ported PARTIALLY to Metro, you phone will show the GV number and can make calls/texts; however, incoming calls/texts still go to GV. You can call Metro Port Dept (their number is in the Wiki) and ask them to complete the port, or wait up to 3-4 weeks for them to fimally complete it. I called them on all 3 of my GV number port-ins, the call was rather painless.
* Autopay is turned off by default.
