Every laptop thread there's always a memory snob who wants 128gb expandable memory, the screen snob who wants 1000 nit 8k wh-oled screen, and the dude who lives in his mom's basement who wants a liquid cooled gpu to play Halo 37 on, in a $300 laptop.
250-280 nits is perfectly fine for any indoor lighting. I have never had any issues with 300 nit panels. I don't think I have ever had to turn my brightness to 100% (or even 80%) on a 300 nit panel laptop. Just because you require portability doesn't mean you use your laptop outdoors.

I'd rather buy an E14 at this price, you'd get at least 1 free SODIMM slot

Not too bad of a machine for the price, except the brightness on its screen panel is rough. Real-world screen brightness is often 20-50 nits below official specs, which would land it in the ~250-280 nit range which is going to struggle in environments with any significant natural light at all.

This might be more acceptable for a larger more stationary machine, but those buying 14" laptops are likely to be toting them around and using them in environments with lighting they can't control. For this use case, 400-450 nits is the bare minimum in my opinion.

I agree. P series is a different beast. I respect the E series for being economical (a different peak).

I believe this machine (with an AMD CPU) is missing the Thunderbolt connection.
I wonder if a USB-C docking will work with it? ie charge and connect two monitors over USB-C.

You usually could not get everything you wanted at a price like this.
