bait and switch.
i redeemed the coupon in the app, one for $1 Dave's single, and then another one for $2 Dave's double.
Right after you placed the order, the Dave's single turned into a regular cheese burger, and the Dave's double turned into a two patty cheese burger.
Nope. Both of us ordered $2 Doubles for lunch, and that's exactly what we got. Your restaurant screwed up.
Every time I try and use the app it says online ordering is currently down. Anyone else have this issue? Tried making new account, deleting and redownloaded app.

Their surge pricing idea was the most tone deaf thing. They managed to grab headlines from Google's racist AI with it.
Dynamic pricing was not to raise prices but lower them and offer deals with when demand was lower by making menus easy to adjust to reflect deals during slow periods to get customers in the door. Raising prices during busy times would be a huge disaster for any restaurant. There's way too much competition for anyone to ever try that.

Oh, so the CEO doesn't understand what words mean?
He literally said raising prices when they were busier to make people pay more for the same product.
To offer a discount, you would have to raise prices across the board then offer a discount program like you describe. Gas stations aren't allowed to charge fees or extra for using credit cards for payment, so they called it a "cash discount" and were fine legally.
We don't need CEO apologists here gaslighting us about what the words they said actually mean.

I don't see where the CEO ever said that in the original articles about the announcement.
"Beginning as early as 2025, we will begin testing more enhanced features like dynamic pricing and daypart offerings, along with AI-enabled menu changes and suggestive selling," he said. "As we continue to show the benefit of this technology in our company-operated restaurants, franchisee interest in digital menu boards should increase, further supporting sales and profit growth across the system."
It looks like the media may have also been the ones who started calling it "surge pricing" based on Uber's practice. Wendy's called it "dynamic pricing". It's not like a fast food place can realistically raise prices all that much anyway given how competitive the industry is.
