Was going to go back for the $2 double today, but both offers are now gone in the app. I thought this promotion ran through 3/6.
If you go to a sit-down restaurant like Red Robin, it's $13.99 for their basic burger, which is 570 calories for 31g protein. Add "standard" 18% tip, and you're over $16.50! In comparison, Half the price for +60% more meat. Yes, Red Robin includes fries, and a large Wendys fries is $3-something.
If Red Robin is too rich, Applebees basic burger for $12 (over $14 with tip). It's the same 1/2 lb of meat as Wendys, and includes fries like Red Robin.
Either way, Wendys is winning hands down against almost any major sit-down restaurant chain. Which is why I don't go to those places for burgers. LOL
However, getting a 2nd round of these deals so soon seems too convenient.
They really shouldn't have used the term "surge pricing", which to me sounds like the price will increase during busier hours of the day. Should have called it "Dynamic Discounts" or "Dave's Discounts"...just use the word discounts and they'd be golden
