Edit* looks like they have eSIM now.

Just something to note, Lyca does not support eSIM. I learned that the hard way. I even used their phone compatibility checker which told me my eSIM only phone was compatible, which was very much not the case.

I've been looking out for an inexpensive plan for my son, but isn't this the same company that was recently posted with a similar deal and has an F with the BBB? It's unfortunate that SD staff is pushing a company with such poor customer service.

What carrier actually provides their network? Advertising calling TO 85 countries, does that also mean FROM those also?

No it does not. How'd you figure that? As for network 99% sure this is T Mobile.

CS is poor, but the company is legitimate. I take them up on their new customer offers all the time - it works.

For your son, check out Lexvor Wireless (Verizon MVNO) -- they offer a 1GB high speed plan with unlimited data thereafter at up to 5Mbps speeds (which is actually fast enough for YouTube in HD) @ 10/mo plus tax. Great plan for kids, as data never stops and they may not notice the slow down after 1GB: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/17295796

Has anyone activated this yet? I still have about a month on my mint prepaid so didn't activate yet, but according to the packing slip, I was supposed to get an activation pin in my order confirmation email. I checked the email and wasn't able to locate that. Are the instructions just wrong?

Thx,
DS

Yes. The instructions are outdated.

The plan (what Lyca calls a bundle) is attached to the SIM. Activating the SIM will automatically load your plan.

Does anyone have experience with porting a phone number in and more importantly, porting a number out if you switch carriers. This seems like a good deal but I'm going to want to be able to port my number back out in 6 months if I find a better deal.

Have you purchased multiple sim's from them to stock up on a good deal and if so how late could you activate them?

From the bottom of Lyca's deal page:

"SIM and assigned number expire after 60 days of non-use."

My interpretation of this is that the most one could wait to use this SIM is 60 days. If others know more then please share.

The thing is I don't yet HAVE an assigned # for that sim....I have to put the sim in to activate it...and the sim has dates into 2025. Now I don't plan to wait that long but hoping someone knows for sure.
