From the bottom of Lyca's deal page:

"SIM and assigned number expire after 60 days of non-use."

My interpretation of this is that the most one could wait to use this SIM is 60 days. If others know more then please share.
This deal is still available on their website but just learnt that the activation expiration is 30 days from the SIM ordering date which is extremely short comparing to other vendors.
Have to cancel my order due to the reason...Anyone know if they provide full refund with an untouched sim card?

The thing is I don't yet HAVE an assigned # for that sim....I have to put the sim in to activate it...and the sim has dates into 2025. Now I don't plan to wait that long but hoping someone knows for sure.
Are you sure the activation date holds until next year?
I asked their agent and they told me the SIM card/new plan loses its value in whole if not activated 30-days from the day of ordering...Mad

Nope..not sure..but I'm willing to risk $15 to find out. I honestly don't think they are on the ball enough to catch it and I've learned to take what csr's say with a grain of salt.

I have been through many different carriers but I do not recommend this one. DO NOT be lured in to the deal, it was my worst experience ever in my life when trying to port out to other carriers from Lyca. They would ask many many unreasonable questions in order for you to get the account number and PIN number over the phone. After you successfully validate those personal info via phone, they would tell you that you would have to write an email to request those account and pin info. WTF, so why waste time validate those info before asking to write an email. Beside of this issue, I also found out their customer service agent is mostly rude; I recall one agent was having heavy breathing sound all the time over the phone and when I asked something, (for instance, are you still there? Multiple times) she would somehow give me annoyed way of response. I swear myself to never again with this horrible carrier

It is $45 of waste money in my caseFrown
I received their sim card in the mail and it shows "Activate by: 11/17/2026" on the package. However, the sim card is attached to my plan which I paid for.
According to the CSR, 30-day from ordering is the activation deadline.
So it is quite confusing...Anyway I went ahead and asked for order cancellation. They seem to have it approved. Finger crossed now for my refund...

Based on my personal experience not recommend joining Lyca. They give nice offers to pull customers, but it is very hard to port out and bring your number back.

I tried to port out to Xfinity and Visible, both places I got error, I can not port my number as it's not active phone number. But the number was active on LycaMobile. They held me for 3-4 days till my plan expired and then they asked me to recharge again to get my number back.

I am writing to express my extreme frustration with the ongoing issue regarding porting my phone number from Redpocket to Lycamobile. I initiated the porting process over seven days ago and still haven't received service.
Here's a breakdown of the situation:
Porting Attempt: I am attempting to port my phone number from Redpocket to Lycamobile.
Activation Email: I received an email notification confirming my Lycamobile plan is active.
eSIM Activation: I used the QR code for eSIM activation on my iPhone 14 Pro, but it was unsuccessful.
No Service: My phone is currently unusable. Redpocket service has been terminated, and Lycamobile hasn't activated.
Lycamobile Customer Service:
I have contacted Lycamobile customer service numerous times. Each time, a ticket is created, closed, and a new one is opened.
I have been instructed to wait 24-48 hours repeatedly, but the issue persists.
Now, I'm told to wait 5-7 days for a refund, with no clear resolution for my phone number.
My primary concern is:
What will happen to my phone number? Will it be permanently lost due to this prolonged issue?
I request immediate assistance to expedite the porting process and activate my service with Lycamobile. The lack of service for over a week has significantly impacted me.
Please provide a clear timeline for resolving this issue and ensure my phone number is not lost.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent matter.

Just something to note, Lyca does not support eSIM. I learned that the hard way. I even used their phone compatibility checker which told me my eSIM only phone was compatible, which was very much not the case.
Lyca just activated my eSIM. They said extra 7$ to ship a physical sim.

Do you get WiFi Calling? If so, are you on Android or iOS?
