Thanks, to all for the great support. I did the whole purchase on the Best Buy website and opted to have the Phone shipped. I also opted to have a GV Voice ported to ATT. After the BB checkout, I received an Order Confirmation from BB, and an email from ATT to confirm my email - that email just had the last 4 digits of my new ATT account number. I have not received any other email yet (1+hr) from GV or ATT. So, here are some uncertainties that would be helpful to resolve:

1. I never received any email from GV to ask for the $3 to port my number out to ATT
2. I never received any other email from ATT to set up my account - the ATT website is not recognizing the email address for account setup, that I confirmed in response to their email verification request

Anybody in the same boat? What should be the next steps? Appreciate all the help from this community.

Just got done with online chat about closing deactivating my line and account. They said the only way to cancel is to speak to the loyalty team and provide verbal confirmation that you want to cancel in order to prevent fraud. Also they're only available Mon-Fri business hrs.

So, go to the store to pick up the phone and then return to home to cancel the service/line. The phone will be yours without any charge. Is it correct?

not an email...request for $3 popped up when unlocked it on google voice website

Bros you have to unlock GV number through Google for $3. Do it through app or website. I'm sure phone processing will fail if you don't and they cancel on you.

3) Once I complete that, I can do chat to cancel right away, correct?
4) They will waive activation fee and not charge me for anything, correct?

You have to talk to loyalty department on phone. You have to absolutely cancel in 3 days or be charged entire month plus any activation fee. ATT Reps are sleezy and try to talk you out of it or confuse you.

Thanks, my friend. Got this - under settings in GV - Unlock. This detail was missing - for those, who have never ported out a GV number. Appreciate the help.
