BB creates the ATT account for you and activates line. It happes right before shipping if you are getting the phone shipped or before they notify you for pickup. No they can't. You are also not putting ATT SIM in it. BB is just selling you the phone with a phone plan, once you are out of the store they don't care. ATT can flag you but that's unlikely.

If you are being asked passcode for cancelling the account and you don't have one and also you can't set one as the 2 factor phone number is not active going to an ATT store is the best course of action. They can send the code to an email and you can cancel the account there.

I had just canceled my both lines before it shipped and took a chance. As it has been 2 days and tomorrow will be 3rd day I don't want to pay 95 * 2 = 190 for these phones... If lucky then I may get the phone and if it does not ship then I am Okay too.
So fine, I just cancelled my order but my question is if anyone knows do I have to do anything with AT&T and contact them to cancel the activation or plan fee?

Saturday I placed my online order for pickup, using a Google Voice (GV) number to port in. Picked up the phone the same day for the $3 cost of unlocking the GV #. Today went in to cancel the account, but, my account was suspended, apparently due to GV# not porting in properly, according to the phone agent @ 800-331-0500. Asked her to close out that cell # and she did. Received an ATT email stating "The wireless number xxxxxxxxxx is no longer associated with user ID [email protected]. This change may be due to a request you made, or the wireless account may have been closed." I Logged out and back in and the number and plan are no longer visible and on the 'Payments' tab states "This account is canceled. No further payments are needed." $3 for a nice new phone!
Sunday I placed a second online order to pick up a phone in store on Wed 3/6, since no more local stock available. For this one, the GV# port in seems to have failed, therefore I do not have an ATT account properly set up. Best Buy mobile activation guy spoke with ATT about my account & said there have been problems porting in GV#s, especially on this phone. I know both my GV#s still work on GV, so I guess the port out is a problem for them.
I plan to pick up the 2nd phone Wednesday and then have either Best Buy or an ATT store either confirm there is no ATT account for that phone#, or set up the account and then cancel it. I think the later plan is safer.
