If u will rarely use one just get it for $4.25 right now with a coupon at Harbor freight... I've had mine for years with zero issues.

Personally American vs Chinese made is a no question anymore. Lifetime guarantee on a poorly made tool doesn't do much for me when I need it to work and not ruin what I'm working on. I'm sure this is fine based on the reviews but I would rather pay the difference even for only a once a year tool. I may be in the minority on that but I wouldn't ever go back after seeing, feeling and experiencing the quality difference.

One of local HDs for some reason cleared out Ridgid aluminum line for 1/2 price, much lighter and easier on hands for sure but grabbed only offset one since I had already rest in metal versions already, from reviews in some cases they still tend to break easier than metal ones but I think that's when someone wants to remove fitting with pipe extension on the handle to handle some really stuck connections.

I agree once you get to 18", the 10" and 14" are fine in steel.

The Perf Tool is 1.25lbs...the Rigid about 1.75lbs, so half a pound diff, FWIW. Had I not already bought the Rigid I probably woulda bought the Perf Tool, now that I see it. For reference: I've had to use a pipe wrench twice in past five years, so I don't know much Wink
