I've had the barista express for about 7 years now. Love it, but now that we have 3 children, the time/effort required to have freshly roasted beans, dial in my grind, tamp, and do the cleanup has made it more difficult to use. At the same time we found the Nespresso milk frother to be terrible. Where we ended up landing is most days steaming milk with the barista express and pouring it into a Nespresso shot. It's like having a double boiler because you can steam and pull the shot simultaneously and no grinding/tamping/cleanup. On occasion we will grab a bag of beans from a quality local roaster and pull our own shots as a special treat, but day-to-day the Breville steam/nespresso shot combo reigns supreme.

trolling right? I have a Keurig, I want one of these. They're not even the same type of machine.
This makes an espresso aka high pressure brewing, concentrated shot of coffee. Keurig makes kind of watered down low extraction but easy coffee, basically opposite end. Nespresso is somewhere in the middle and you get "okay" espresso but it's really not an espresso at all.

I called them and provided them with my receipt. They are shipping out the barista tool even though I purchased my machine from amazon.

After owning an Express for a month or so now I generally like it but already I can see that I would want something with a dual boiler in the future if I stay with this type of machine. I have never used the grinder and never will so I would want my next machine to not have a grinder. My neighbor has an Ode grinder and that is fantastic and I use his for now until I buy one. I also want a machine that has adjustable temperature. If I make a milk drink it's hot enough but an espresso on its own not hot enough for me. Based on my coffee drinking preferences I think I might have preferred a superautomatic coffee machine like a Jura.

Seriously. 15-20 minutes to heat up the machine. Grind the beans if applicable, either way you have to put the proper amount of coffee in the tamp it etc etc. Pull the shot, then steam the milk if applicable, then quickly clean the wand, dump the grounds, do a quick cleanup of everything before your coffee goes cold. It takes a lot of time and that's just for one drink. I have an iLLy machine with iLLy pods and honestly that some of the best coffee ever, better than Nespresso and Keurig is just garbage.

My work has a high end Jura machine. I think it tastes pretty mediocre and I would never buy one for my own home.

Oh, I'm sorry, I was speaking too loosely with my terms. I guess the email I got from Breville was just an order confirmation, as well, rather than a shipping confirmation. It has an order number and says I should receive it in 5-8 business days. Sorry for the confusion.

15-20 minutes? It takes <1 minute for the Breville Barista Express to heat up. Like seriously I don't get what all these posts are talking about. The Breville Barista Express (what this deal is talking about) is dead simple to use, it takes all of 5 minutes max to make a latte including cleanup. What are you all doing that is taking so much time?

Literally everyone will tell you to preheat it for 15-20 minutes to preheat the portafilter...
