Still $84 on ebay from a Dewalt authorized dealer; as posted here on SD the other day:

I'm very comfortable with saws, chainsaws, axes and flying through the woods at 50mph on my dirt bike.
These, however, terrify me.

You'd be wearing gloves though feel like it'd be tough for that kind of accident but who knows still scary

Is there really a need for a powered pruner? I feel that it is more comfortable pruning manually. Also, if I need more strength, I grab a long one. It gives more reach than this.

If there was a way to attach this to a pole, i would pick one up. A 3D printed mechanism to pull a rope of some sort like a tree pruner to pull the trigger might work when attached to a pole.

I agree you can get better reach with long pruners (loppers), however, after a day of using those, my arms and chest get sore. I use this whenever I can because it works so darn well. I've been clearing out vines already this year and I will say it's easy to stick one hand up under a bush than it is to use two hands with the lopper sometimes.

This is better than the garbage fiskar shears and pruners from hoemdepot or Costco adding up to more than 100. These are absurdly good and I would sell them like anything if I was dewalt sales person. Holly shitballs these are life changing

Man I keep seeing these on YouTube and really want a pair but after investing in Ryobi and Milwaukee I don't think I can afford a third set of batteries.

Get a Milwaukee to Dewalt adapter. No need to get additional batteries.

Just used this tool for trimming. I cut my tree with pole saw & all the leftover thick branches this tool did the job of cutting them to small pieces for my fireplace. I was surprised this thing cuts through anything between its blades. Just ensure your other hand is more than a foot away. Just wished it came with an extension pole.

Excellent investment.

I've gone through and returned four of them in the past couple days because of the shower of sparks coming from the motor. I called Dewalt and they said this shouldn't be happening. Anybody have one that doesn't throw sparks and smells like something is burning?

I had high expectations for this but it fell a bit short. I have carpel tunnel syndrome so I thought 90 bucks was worth it to save my hands.

The downsides is that can't get into tight spaces. You normally put the bottom part of the pruner against the branch but with this, sometimes it's not possible when another branch is nearby. Sometimes with hand pruners, you flip it to get a closer cut, it's kind of hard to do it with this.

When I cut my bigger peach branches, sometimes it wasn't a clean cut, it would peel the bark. Cutting again wouldn't cut it sometimes. From the factory, I notice my blade wasn't as sharp as other pruners. I can run my fingers along it and I don't feel a sharp edge. I think this might be due to it being so powerful that they can't have a small edge that might roll.

I'm still on the fence with this. I think it's useful if you have big trees where the cuts aren't so crowded. Or if you gave tons of trees and don't care about the perfect cut.
