Isn't woot Amazon. And doesn't Amazon have a horrendous record of selling fake batteries? I can't imagine woot has better inventory control than Amazon. I'm staying far away from this.

no

there are listings for off brand batteries, but they are clearly marked by the "brand" that sells them. if you buy a dewalt battery where the seller is amazon, then you will get a dewalt battery. you will not get any fakes.

it seems you read of lot information on the internet but you couldn't process what you read.

This has been a real issue in the past. Mostly with things like sd cards. Comingled inventory. They would take 3rd party seller inventory and mix it in with amazon inventory of the same product which resulted in some customers getting counterfeit product even when purchasing an item sold and shipped by Amazon.

That being said, I haven't seen counterfeit PowerStack batteries yet.

this is true for products that are eligible for commingling with amz. power tools are not, with the exception of milwaukee. but that's because amazon doesn't really carry milwaukee products. amazon has about a dozen milwaukee products, mostly accessories. but generally speaking they don't carry milwaukee stuff.

I see the promo about how they have better output and all. Is that just marketing or are they worth the upgrades?

Thank you!

I picked up a couple not expecting much, but they do feel a bit more powerful. If you need a little more power, then I suppose they might be worth the upgrade, but the old batts work just fine for my needs.

The 5ah powerstacks are great and all except they don't work with adapters. The smaller battery does though.

I use Milwaukee guns with dewalt batteries.

I think it was Torque Test Channel's testing that found that adapters typically have an impact on performance. So if you're buying one of these high performance batteries, it'd be best to stick to the brand of tool that it was made for anyways.

Good to know. Why don't they work with adapters?

I recently grabbed a couple adapters and it's been great.

It would be a pain in the ass to manufacture fake PowerStacks. Usually fakes swap the cells for a significantly cheaper but same form factor cell. You can't do that as easily with PowerStack.
