*Sobs regretfully in the corner with his $1,780 S90C*

Wish I waited, I guess grass is always greener, but Sammy OS is just garbage

Aaaahhhh just found reason:

New process of producing OLEDs without rare earth minerals.

"The new process, in simplest terms, involves replacing those rare minerals with not-so-rare -- and therefore more affordable --- minerals. Diving into the science, the process involves grinding manganese bromide with benzyltriphenylphosphonium bromide. That solution is then dissolved into single MnBz crystals, which are used to create a light-emitting device (the LED part of OLED)."

So likely we see prices continue downward!

That's what has stopped my from purchasing a 77" OLED just a few years ago. They were on sale for $4,900
Now I have my eye on the 83". There was a sale for one at $2,400 !!
I got the s90 83" for $1950 before tax and after cash back myself a few weeks ago.

Crazy times...

Wow, OLED prices have dropped like crazy. I bought a 77 inch SONY A80K for $1499 on a YMMV clearance deal from Costco and that was considered a steal at the time, which was only like 6 months ago lol. Had to drive all over town to find a Costco that had any in stock and had to rent a truck to get it home too. No regrets, just crazy to see how much prices have dropped on OLEDs. $Its great that more people will get to enjoy these awesome TVs as prices drop.
Yeah I've been on the hunt for 4 years. Patiently waiting for a 77" OLED to hit $1,500 which is my budget, but I couldn't resist at this price with 5% cash back Amazon it'll be $1,640!

I have noticed OLED prices dropping crazy too. Makes me wonder if a 77" will be sub $1,500 this fall around BF.

I want to buy at this price but willing to spend 400 more for 83. Will that be easy to find?

Prices would be much cheap had LG not cornered the OLED panel market.
Any other manufacturer has to purchase an LG panel !!

I've been waiting for $1500 price as well but couldn't hold off on this deal. Is this a better TV than the Sammy S89C/90C?

Oh man. Keep finding reasons not to replace Panasonic Plasma but this deal may be too good to pass on.

Just got it a week ago on Amazon for $1950. Re-ordered now for $1725 and immediately called Amazon customer service. Got an Amazon gift card for $225. The price difference including tax for me was $247. But Amazon said they can only refund price difference w/o tax.

Glad they accepted to refund the price difference instead of the hassle to return it

Same. Mine is pending delivery for next week but they right away said they'd refund the difference once it's delivered.Glad they didn't make it a huge hassle

Just paid $2000 from Amazon last week. Any chance for them to price match / refund?
