Based on comments in a previous thread, The Q is more budget friendly while it is newer. Lot's of helpful info in that thread. Some scary comments about receiving defective units as well.
Here is a helpful comment by mvxg10 in a previous thread:
Mopping isn't worth it really until you go much higher in price. Spinning, raising mop, with auto wash and fill is nice. The dragging self filled mops are not really worth the trouble.
I have the Q5+. NOT the pro. Mine does not have mopping. If I could go back I'd do more research on the mopping part and possibly go for that one.
With that said. I LOVE my Q5+.
Ah ok. Your first post sounded like you didn't know you need the mopping function until you use it and see how well it works in the Q5+ ). Thanks for clarifying. I also don't think I need mopping, but your post giving me 2nd thought so I'll need to do a bit more digging.

Ohhh yeah I see that now. My bad.
I upgraded from a iRobot (old version) to the Q5+. I LOVE IT. I'd easily buy again.
Now after having it, I wonder if the mopping feature is as good as the rest of the robot. If I could go back I'd do more research on the mopping feature and possibly buy that one.
Regarding just the Q5+ it's very very good and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.
Thank you! I'll edit my original too. Good luck on your journey!
Obligatory YMMV, but we had issues with our S6 back in October 2020 (purchased December 2019, so just barely within 1 year warranty). Customer service responded to emails (back and forth) within 12 minutes.
It was determined that we needed to ship it to get it fixed (1 way shipping, so we had to pay shipping costs). We ended up shipping it after the 1 year warranty, and they still honored it as an exception.
They finished the repair within a week of receiving it. It still works and runs daily (though it's old and has a hard time reaching its base when it needs to charge - but that's expected after 5 years of daily usage).
Obviously, YMMV and this was 4 years ago - so a lot could have changed since. I have an S7 MaxV Ultra now and have no complaints.
If you are considering S7 ultra, get the s8 ultra instead. According to customer service, S8 ultra has the dryer built in and will dry both the mop pad and the filter cleaning area on the bottom right. This helps reduce mold issue due to leftover water under the filter. I am seeing black mold everytime I use a paper towel to wipe below the filter.
Can someone comment on how the Roborock refurbs are? I understand it's Roborock directly, but some manufactures do better jobs than others. My S5 Max crapped out on me a while ago, but still haven't replaced it. I just kept getting error 13 (tried a new dock and also replacing capacitor), but nothing seemed to help.
I'm looking to get one with mopping and self emptying dock now.
TIA

That would be the Q5, which is an incredible deal for $168.
The Q5 was the replacement for the S4 Max, and is honestly the only vac most people need. All the LIDAR and app features but no mopping, no auto-empty. Just super reliable vacuuming.
I had been planning on buying a QX Revo from Costco in the coming weeks for $750. The Q Revo for $639 doesn't seem worth the saving for a refurb. Anyone have any thoughts on if the $800 S8 Pro Ultra would be a better choice?
Wish Q Revo is as discounted as the others. Considering a new unit costs $770, refurb should be about $600, and 20% off of that would be a very good price. But they're selling the refurb for $800 which is higher than price of a new unit, and so even with the 20% off the price isn't that enticing.

So far, it seems like the Q7+ mainly has a bigger dust bin, mopping ability, rubber brush roll, and a bit more suction.
Can anyone with the Q7+ comment on the mopping ability? I have all hardwood floors.
With that said. I LOVE my Q5+.

A month later now, extremely pleased with my new Eufy x10 pro omni. Performs like the S7 MaxV Ultra at half the price.

Not into mopping but the suction power seems like a major difference when stepping up
5 2700pa
7 4600 pa
8 6000 pa
Wish they made the vac only option like 5+ with the higher PA value … now I'm thinking to just buy 8 and just ignore the built in mop
Change my mind
