Great deals, but I'm not buying anywhere except Costco from now on. Too easy to get burned on crappy or faulty products.

Based on comments in a previous thread, The Q is more budget friendly while it is newer. Lot's of helpful info in that thread. Some scary comments about receiving defective units as well.

Mopping isn't worth it really until you go much higher in price. Spinning, raising mop, with auto wash and fill is nice. The dragging self filled mops are not really worth the trouble.

What is the difference between Q and S series? Is Q new series vs S?

S = High End
Q = Affordable
# = Generation
Plus = Includes Basic Empty Dock
Ultra = Includes High End Dock (seems to be the triple dock or advanced dock with empty + maintain)
Max/MaxV/Max+ = Think of them like "model facelifts" of each model. Sometimes it's additional features, sometimes it's a more powerful motor.
Pro = Again, seems to be the "facelift" of each model with newer features.
+ = Again, different line of features on each model. It's pretty inconsistent.

I hope to get a vacuum with a mopping function and an auto-empty dock, but I don't need self-mop cleaning or mop drying (will do it by myself). Is Q7 Max+ the right choice?

For anyone wondering.

I upgraded from a iRobot (old version) to the Q5+. I LOVE IT. I'd easily buy again.

Now after having it, I wonder if the mopping feature is as good as the rest of the robot. If I could go back I'd do more research on the mopping feature and possibly buy that one.

Regarding just the Q5+ it's very very good and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Good luck!

Awesome thank you for the info. I might venture that way next year. I didn't realize how much I mopped haha.

So.... I haven't bought one of these since my irobot 675 from a few years ago and I can't seem to find this answer anywhere.

I was looking at the s8 but I have a step between two living rooms. Can I just plop this into the lower room from the higher room and have it do its thing satisfactorily?

Yes, I have an older S5 and it quickly figures out on its own on what level of the house you have placed it.

Any inputs on how the customer service is? TIA
I purchased from here during one of the previous sales and I had an issue with a cracked clean water holder. They sent me a replacement within 24 hours.

Just out of curiosity, if I buy Q5 without emptying bin dock, on average how frequently I should empty the bin manually? any idea? TIA.

I did that research on mopping when I bought my Q5+. I think you and I made the right call getting a non-mopping version. I'll eventually buy a robot vacuum that does it all, but as far as best overall value and least amount of work, the Q5+ is excellent.

I live in a one floor house now, but as soon as I move to a house with multiple stores, I would definitely buy another Q5+ or its equivalent for the second story.

Very dependent on your household. For example, my Robot can vacuum a 1000ish square foot house and fill the bin because I have a lab. If I run every day (which I usually do), then it's usually half to two-thirds full. I believe VacuumWars on YouTube has a good video on bin capacities.

Is 2700 Pa enough suction for low/medium pile carpet? My parents gave me their Roomba, it's an older model and it's good as useless for carpet so I wasn't sure if that's just the state of robovacuums.

Does the software let you run two on the same floor to cut down on cleaning time? Or would they redo each other's work?
