Does the software let you run two on the same floor to cut down on cleaning time? Or would they redo each other's work?
You can set each to only vacuum specific rooms in the house. So if you want 1 for the front of the house and 1 for the back of the house you can do it once the map of your house is created.

I have the S4max that is about 2000 suction. I am more interested in the self emptying. Has anyone used it and any cons? It also says 7 weeks?! I have a dog and pretty sure that would not be the case, but emptying every 2 weeks or so would be perfect for me.

Any inputs on how the customer service is? TIA
My Roborock S5 Max actually just crapped out from a deal almost 2 years ago. I just went through the All State warranty process and was very easy. I had to send back the unit with a provided label and they are sending a check back due to the inability to fix. I would keep the original box just in case.

Does anybody know if the S8 pro dock is the same as the one for the S7?

Bought the Q5+ from here last time, stopped working just after the return period ran out, now having to deal with All State for repairs. Wouldn't purchase again tbh.

Very dependent on your household. For example, my Robot can vacuum a 1000ish square foot house and fill the bin because I have a lab. If I run every day (which I usually do), then it's usually half to two-thirds full. I believe VacuumWars on YouTube has a good video on bin capacities.
Thank you very much

Which one should I get if I don't need a mop, but need obstacle avoidance? Seems like the Q5+ (or any of the ones with just the vacuum) do not have obstacle avoidance.

Be careful of the Refurbs. I bought one a month ago and the one they sent was DOA with the dreaded Error 13.
They did replace it but it was a PITA to pack it up and send it back, wait for them to verify the issue and send me a new one.

Got a Q5 with auto-empty dock on Black Friday. Overall very happy with it. My thoughts:
- As a vacuum, it's excellent. Does a very good job vacuuming and also detecting carpet and increasing the suction.
- Its mapping is very good, leading to very efficient vacuuming. I like that you can modulate the suction strength (low/med/high) and choose how many times to vacuum a space (1x, 2x, 3x).
- Auto-empty is loud as heck, but that's OK. Just be aware if anyone is asleep.
- Multi-floor mapping works, but switching between floors is a bit of a pain. It takes a while to auto-detect where it is since it basically needs to rescan all the walls. There is a workaround if you are on the dock level, which is to place it on the dock and "restore" the floor's map. Restoring sometimes works on non-dock level, but inconsistently. Similarly if it gets stuck on something and you need to slightly reposition it, it can struggle to find its location again. It will always work, but sometimes takes much longer than you'd expect, fumbling around the floor first.
- Room splitting on a floor works OK, but oddly does not sync to other users of the same vacuum. I assume this software update will come eventually.

Can someone comment on how the Roborock refurbs are? I understand it's Roborock directly, but some manufactures do better jobs than others. My S5 Max crapped out on me a while ago, but still haven't replaced it. I just kept getting error 13 (tried a new dock and also replacing capacitor), but nothing seemed to help.

I'm looking to get one with mopping and self emptying dock now.

TIA
I purchased a Roborock refurb a couple years ago. Outside plastic looked all new, bottom plate was new but lacked any stickers. It was missing one screw on the bottom and there was a bit of debris deep into the wheel well but otherwise looked int great shape. I think it's a pretty good deal.
