Based on comments in a previous thread, The Q is more budget friendly while it is newer. Lot's of helpful info in that thread. Some scary comments about receiving defective units as well.

Mopping isn't worth it really until you go much higher in price. Spinning, raising mop, with auto wash and fill is nice. The dragging self filled mops are not really worth the trouble.
Just saying , I love my S8 ultra, cleans my 1,200 square feet floor with mopping perfectly . It's just another level from any high end iRobot I have owned . This is the holy grail of cleaning robots
I purchased from here during one of the previous sales and I had an issue with a cracked clean water holder. They sent me a replacement within 24 hours.
I have gone through 2 cracked water holders in the past year. Same model. Definitely an issue.
From rtings: "The Roborock S8 is better than the Roborock S7. The S8 has a more powerful suction motor and a more effective cleaning head, resulting in better debris-pickup performance across different surfaces. The S8 also features a separate front-facing optical sensor that allows it to spot, identify, and react to obstacles placed in its way."
As far as I can tell, if you want decent mopping the S8 is the best value by far. Auto emptying dust and water would be nice but I don't think that's worth an extra $400+. The vacuum is essentially the same as their flagship model (S8 pro ultra) just without the dock.
I wanted the best mopping as possible so I came to the same conclusion after seeing a comparison on Vacuum Wars youtube. I still went with the S7 to save $70 bc better obstacle avoidance wasn't that big a deal for me.
I love the dock too! But not at the $400 cost of being able to buy another whole robot lol.
The S8 Pro Ultra seems like a major pain with 2 rollers. Maintaining one roller is plenty and with no carpet it doesn't make much sense.
The Q revo doesn't have a removable water tank so another maintenance issue.
It seems the S7 MaxV Plus was the best model and they don't offer it anymore on these sales. I wonder why. Will have to wait for next iteration models to get something equivalent or better.
Man someone needs to tell these guys it makes no sense to have so many models. So confusing which one I need. I need mopping with self emptying bins for dust and water. My first floor OSS nearly 1500 sqft with all hardwood ( not engineered). S8 ultra pro max plus xl which one I go for

Any of this product work well with hair? Im tired of removing hair stuck on roller after every single clean, remove after couple clean would be nicer.
Pretty much all of them are the same in this regard. EXCEPT! The Eufy L60 dock cuts hair off of the roller! Crazy. Maybe one or two other robovacs do this but this is the first I've ever heard of.

Q Revo looks like a great deal, but I need the object avoidance to deal with dog toys.
Thanks
