Based on comments in a previous thread, The Q is more budget friendly while it is newer. Lot's of helpful info in that thread. Some scary comments about receiving defective units as well.

Mopping isn't worth it really until you go much higher in price. Spinning, raising mop, with auto wash and fill is nice. The dragging self filled mops are not really worth the trouble.

Went in for 2 Q5s after great experience with S5 (except mop).

One smells like a wet dog and clearly used prior, the other is brand new.

I'm happy with the price and past postive experience with roborock products

It might be the box. I ordered the same, one arrived with crushed candy coating everything (found a whole mini m&m) but clearly new parts. The charging dock was very dirty. The other UPS marked as a damaged shipment /empty box. That was probably a pristine one. The box inserts seem to be used and where problems are coming from, like the candy and food in mine.

Just got the Q5. Works great. We had a robot vac several years ago, and they have evolved so much with the apps. Tracking their progress and limiting their travel is awesome. We used to lose ours under furniture all the time. This is so much better.

My S8 pro ultra arrived yesterday and within hours started the dreaded error 13/charging error. Had water in it when it arrived and the packaging was damp. It has charged enough to run a few times and I'm mostly happy with it but expect this error to get more annoying and eventually cripple the device.

Received my S8 pro ultra. I am not as lucky as the others. Mine came wet with a wet mop pad with heavy cleaner smell. I would expect the mop pad should be replaced or at least clean and dried before shipping. A big bug (still alive) came with the vacuum too

My Q5 came, and it wouldn't charge past 14%. In fact, I left it there charging and it actually went down. I'm unlucky or this is not a good brand. EX-NEATO robotics user looking for a good replacement vacuum bot.
