Depending on the size of the yard, you will likely want a separate lawn mower. Thankfully, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist often has deals on lightly used EGO mowers and equipment.

What is the prorated price for the battery alone? Looking to do the opposite and keep the 2.5ah haha.

Trimmer and 4ah are on same deal while 2ah is separate(gift).If you return the 4ah, you would have to return the trimmer since it's not sold separately.

EDIT: My bad, I was confused with the other Amazon deal. You might on this one.

I've been using a Greenworks 60v trimmer and I have a 2.5 and 4 Ah battery. Have used it for 2 seasons now. I have a large yard on a corner with sidewalks, and lots of landscaping, so I have a lot of trimming. I'm coming off an Echo gas trimmer for comparison. The electric is a game changer with a few caveats. The battery will drain quick, and the 4aH is very heavy and unbalanced. The trick is to run the head at half speed and keep a sharp line. The 2.5aH will run 35 minutes at half speed and is easier to use because of the weight. Get a star shaped .80 trimmer line for the best cuts. I would go 2 x 2.5aH if that's an option, having a backup when needed. The 60v was a game changer. No more mixing gas and changing out carbs from ethanol varnish.

The battery has free return? I don't see it under the listing page. Typically batteries are non-returnable

There is a deal at Costco for a Greenworks PRO 80v 17" trimmer(4 yr warranty) with 80V 2.0Ah battery( 4 yr. warranty)and charger included for $199(price dropped yesterday) . You think that is a better one than what you have? How light is yours? Costco one has a sling too i think. Costco is great in that you can return it anytime. I will say Echos are the standard of all trimmers. All the pros use Echos and they're making electric battery powered ones too.

This thread is confusing people.


With this deal on for the trimmer for and 2.5ah batter for $179 there is NO ability to separate the bundle. You either keep it all or return it all.


With the $300 deal which was for the trimmer with 4ah battery AND the bonus 2.5ah battery you can return the 2.5ah battery for $112.34 plus tax. I know because I did it. I prefer the $300 deal because 4ah is a better battery than the 2.5ah unless you don't like the extra weight.

With the ability to return the 2.5ah battery for $112 thus only paying $188 for the trimmer and 4ah battery.

Outside of having to return the 2.5ah battery I'm not seeing how this is a better deal than the $300 bundle. You get a 4ah battery instead of 2.5ah and Line IQ for just ~$9 more (again, after returning the bonus 2.5ah battery which I've already started the process of doing).

I bought mine on a HD clearance SD. Probably under $60 with a battery. The 80v is obviously better, as is buying from Costco. Mine is heavier than my echo with the 2.5aH. The 4aH is too heavy for my yard.

Btw, Greenworks increased all their batteries to 8 yr warranty if purchased at Costco. I used the 80v Greenworks Pro 21" mower for the first time yesterday and feel great. It was light and went thru high grass with relatively no difficulty. Self propelled takes a bit of getting used to. The only bad thing is that charger can't charge both batteries simultaneously.
