Excellent shoe. Already have two pairs. But the price needs to come down more before I consider purchasing another pair.
A little off topic but I don't really like the current prices that I'm seeing for super trainers and supershoes. As far as deals and discounts go Winter 2024 has been really dry. I get the impression that retailers are reducing orders from manufacturers and trying to hold the line on pricing. Last year and the year before there were more deals after New Years and they were juicier.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what's going on in the industry and retail side? Any idea when the next period of clearance sales and deep discounts will occur?

Feel like late 2023/ early 2024 running as a hobby exploded like crazy therefore so does shoes demand. NYRR races used to be not that hard to register but this year October races sold out in like 2 days lol, which is unheard of as far as I know..

Interesting. Someone on a forum provided another plausible explanation. That the last couple summers have been so hot and unbearable that it's driving down demand for summer events and driving up demand for winter race events.
I'm surprised that a deal post on a Saucony Endorphin has only drawn a couple comments. Do people not care much for high performance Saucony shoes? I don't see any enthusiasm.

It's the price. Late model Endorphin speeds were under $100 a season or two ago, and then like previous posters have said, we haven't seen prices like that since.

Yes. There's still plenty of Endorphin Speed V2 units still in the retail chain but mainly in the gray market.
Saucony has been dealing with an excess inventory problem since 2022. They have also seen sales decline for the past two years. 2024 is expected to see sales continue to decline for Saucony through at least mid year.
One thing that's perplexing is that Saucony released the Pro 4 about a week ago. It was launched on the same day as the Speed 4. But for some reason Saucony has chosen not to reduce the price for the old Pro 3 like they did with the Speed 3. The prices for the Pro 4 and Pro 3 are both $225 in the USA. I wonder what the rationale is for them not to discount the Pro 3. Who's going to buy those left over Pro 3 units when the Pro 4 is available at the same price?
Dicks Sporting Goods did not get the memo that the Speed 3 has been discontinued. They are still listing their Speed 3 color ways at $170. Nor do they have any inventory in the Speed 4. That's a head scratcher. Dicks has been an important retail wholesale partner for Saucony. But maybe that's changing?

IMO opinion the smaller races are relatively inexpensive (most are $25 for members) so people are just signing up. But if they can't make it there is no option to cancel or transfer your bib.

I'm in the same boat and waiting on deals for supershoe trainers. I met the Saucony rep at a marathon expo this past weekend during my packet pick up. He told me they were better controlling inventory. We talked a bit about the 4s and gave me a 65% discount to purchase a pair online to try (I train in Brooks). I prefer to train in $80shoes... Even with 65% off, not sure I would want to train in $100+ shoes. I go through 20 pairs + 1 run on my race shoe per race. Gets kinda pricey to be $100+ for trainers.

Saucony still has a big inventory problem and sales are weak and trending down. Eventually I think prices will come down a lot more in the Spring.
