This isn't sold in the warehouse. It's a blue page that is online only. Advertised at $250 off the $700 price ($450) but their price changed about a week ago to $650 so the $250 off takes it down to $400....pennies ignored

Oh, very subtle detail (blue vs. white page) that I missed. I almost went to the warehouse to buy it so thanks so much for pointing out.

Short answer on RAM appears no, in the sense that this comes with 16GB RAM (2x8GB), which is max officially supported by this model.

Longer answer is that this includes dual ddr4 SODIMM slots, each supporting up to 16GB of RAM, and they do appear servicable (not soldered on).
Crucial's site says it can go up to 32GB : https://www.crucial.com/compatibl...n-15-(3530)

Edit: I agree that Dell's own manual claims it only goes up to 16GB although it says it can support a single 16GB module, leaving the other slot unused

https://dl.dell.com/content/manua...uage=en-us

Memory configurations supported : 16 GB, 1 x 16 GB, DDR4, 2666 MHz

I would be surprised if it really can't support 32GB, someone would need to test it

Is this only available for members?
Generally anything can be ordered from Costco.com regardless if you have a membership. Some items have a 5% surcharge if you do not have a membership though.

I guess the touchscreen - and the 2-year warranty, 90-day return!

Got the Asus Vivobook, it's good, all I can say is Asus would always have better quality, compared to Dell. Plus it has a better processor too.

Dell is 512 GB and HP is 1TB;

But Dell is 1080p and HP is 720p

My biggest take away would be hinge issue?

Both are same price! Hinge May be deciding factor.

Dell sucks in hinges and not sure about HP
From the pictures it appears that the monitor portion is supported by hinge instead of the body of the laptop.

Friends don't let friends buy Dell. If you do, buy Latitude. These days in the PC market, it's pretty much Lenovo (who has fallen massively from grace) or nothing imho. I have an off-lease $200 Latitude 7290 from Dell Refurbished with an 8th gen i5, a good SSD, brand new battery and 32 gb of RAM and it's a great machine and small form factor for the money for what it is.

Dell is fine. I had a Latitude back in 2013 and an XPS 15 I got five years ago. Both were fantastic.

I had a Lenovo X1 carbon before and the screen crapped out on me just outside of warranty. Although I liked the keyboard, everything else was nothing extraordinary. Got my wife a Lenovo laptop from staples several years ago and there's so much bloatware on it. On top of that, her G key stopped working consistently just outside of warranty. Vowed never to buy Lenovo after that.

I will say I'm on my first MacBook Pro 16" and the build quality is light years ahead of anything I've used before. Still getting used to the OS but if I had to go back to a PC, it would either be a Dell XPS, LG Gram, or Surface Laptop.

Good luck!
So if each can support 16 that would be a total of 32gb supported?
