Agreed, price on the 760 is nice. $225+tax free ship is pretty great and this is plenty for many users.
For those that run an external amp
I have both. The Onkyo has slightly better power output, far better GUI, and web console configuration that makes it super easy to setup. The Denon has better sound quality for music, but lower volume output, and CEC handling isn't great (turn it off).

If you need more wattage output, go with the Onkyo if there is a deal at Costco (easy to return). If you want bang for the buck, the Denon at this price is hard to beat. I picked up a refurb during the last sale at $209, and it came well packaged, but the front display did have a few scratches, but the unit itself worked fine. YMMV when it comes to the condition of the refurbished unit, but I'll take a few scratches to get the deal.

Based on how many went "coming soon" soon after, my guess is yes.
They probably didn't have many either.

The 3800 is a lot of value for that price imo.

I went for the 4800. Haven't bought a receiver since 2012 a refurbished 200$ Onkyo hitb receiver. Covered all my needs with true HD and 1080p pass through. Looking to go 4k and Atmos so I paid the extra for the little things since it's so long between upgrades for me.

Yes $1500 for the 4800 is pretty good also.
I went with the 3800 since I use my AVR as a pre pro and the 4800 didn't add much for the extra cost.

Late on the train, but I'd appreciate some advice from more knowledgeable than me. I'm still kinda noob when it comes to AV stuff Smilie

Currently, I have S940H 7.2, running it in Atmos 5.1.2 configuration. Speakers are Jamo 803 with the atmos attachments, etc. (I know people say the are entry-level etc. but I am happy the way they sound. I might upgrade in the future, but that's a different topic)
The setup is PC graphics goes to TV (77' lg oled) that is 4k 120Hz, then a second hdmi cable is going from the TV to the denon for sound.
So S940H is a 4k 60hz receiver, I guess the newer model is S970H? Is it worth upgrading for my scenario?
Currently, as mentioned, it's running PC to TV to Denon. Would it make sense to re-run it PC to Denon to TV, I am guessing 8k receiver should do 4k/120hz to fully utilize the TV? (Graphics card is 7900xtx, it does hit 120 fps and above at 4k in many games) Is it worth the money and the hassle?

Denon just raised the price of the S760H from $299 to $399 before the 25% discount. Thankfully I got my order in just 2 days ago.

I am playing music on Stereo. I can hear music through my two floor standing speakers but not from the sub.

How do I get the sub to work?

I can get the sub to work if I change it to Dolby surround under music settings but it sounds very crappy.
Same with DTS neural, DTS virtual.

Only setting where music sound is good is Music Stereo but I can't get the sub to work under that setting.

What's your crossover set for? Also you'd be surprised how much music doesn't actually need a sub if your floorstanders can go down to 40 or 50hz.

If your receiver doesn't pass high refresh what you're doing makes the most sense. Plug to TV and send sound back through the earc.

I just set it up and it's been an outstanding upgrade over the 12 y/o Yamaha . Dsp like neural x vastly improve surround on low quality streaming audio signals from Prime , Hulu etc . Audyssey tuning calibrated the speakers perfectly. Video and audio format compatibility is so much better . I have tested WiFi and internet streaming on the receiver yet .
