Without going into details, for the people wondering, the RX 7900M is comparable to the RTX 4090 and even outperforms it in certain games/scenarios.
In my opinion, this is a very good deal, especially with the sign-up code and AMEX offers.

You can get a comparable price for a 4080 with i9-13900HX from Dell atm. Wonder which is really better

Been looking for a deal on a 7945HX laptop for work compiling Linux OSes. This is a good price and tempting, but I'm trying to replace my aging XPS15 which has been an absolute nightmare of blue screens, hibernation issues, and dead batteries. I hesitate to go back to Dell again. Had better luck in the past with Lenovo.

I'm pretty stunned that with this GPU you cannot get it in a QHD/QHD+ Configuration, who thought that was a good idea?

Overall this seems like a great deal though if you're going to use this laptop with an external monitor.

Try pushing out 480Hz on a QHD+ display and you'd have your answer. The choice of display with the accompanying refresh rate is absolutely fine in terms of gaming.
It still has a 100% DCI-P3 which makes it capable for photo/video editing, as well.

Who said anything about it needing to be 480Hz?

This is exactly what I was coming to say. A 240HZ QHD screen would be good enough.

7900m is more comparable to the 4080 mobile. It uses more power thou and has worse ray tracing. 4090 mobile is quite a bit faster actually. Especially if u compare the top TDP ones which still are less power hungry than the 7900m

Great deal seemingly. Last time I tried an AMD video card it wasn't perfectly supported like Nvidia, but I am sure those issues are in the past.

That was almost exactly what Asus did on the G18.
