rtings.com review is very positive
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...-2020-qled

I have Sony X950H 65" TV. I tend to not happy with most of TV or Monitor quality..
I initially purchased 55" Hisense, But I was constantly changing my setting.
For Sony X950H, I barely changed any setting and I was happy with picture quality
Sony's TV is my reference TV.

I received my TV about 1 week ago, and TCL's picture quality is good. I need to to turn down the brightness, and remove some color saturation. ( Color -7)

1. TCL makes a lot of budget TV, but their 6 series was top of the line model in 2020. Review on the TV is really good.

2. HDTV now has a lot of confusing terms.
MINI LED: Basically this tv has small Mini LED vs normal LED TV .. so they have more zoning.. for local dimming. The TV is plenty bright. ( I'm using normal or dark.)

QLED: Quantum LED... Quantum Dots... It's a layer of cystals... so the colors pop more...

This TV has both Mini LED + QLED

3. Steaming Service: Roku
This is TV with Roku software.. which I prefer.. later year models like R645 R655 are using Google TV... which was bit sluggish.. at launch. R645 R655 might have better spec for video gaming, but for viewing TV, I prefer Roku.

I would say this tv quality is $500 ~ $700 enthusiast range. ( non OLED)

I saw some people buying TCL 55" QLED TV.. ( do not have mini led). for $280?
I would say this is better deal.

Costco Give you 2 year on Warranty.

Pretty old model at this point but decent price and Costco warranty is nice.

I've had this TV since it came out. I won't go into picture quality, but I can attest the software and apps are glitchy. I have stand alone Rokus that are fine. TCL just doesn't have good software. Count on occasional resets that only fix stuff for a while. The kid at best buy warned me about TCL years ago. I didn't listen to the kid. Figured I'd learn in my own and I sure did. The live TV guide is always off. YouTube goes black after one of their numerous commercials plays... Audio still in background. Great monitor. Bad software

I've had the opposite experience with the version before this one, R617. Excellent TV once settings are finely tuned. It used to be snappy but due to updates and probably lack of optimization, app scrolling can feel sluggish. That's my only gripe. My 2¢ since I hate when others have one bad experience and feel the need to bash the entire company claiming that everyone thinks it's bad.

I have the 75" version of this TV (75R635) that I purchased in Feb 2021. That was $1500 at Best Buy.

Overall great TV. Yes, occasionally there are some glitches with the software but only a few times have I had to unplug the TV to get it to "reboot" and work. I had more trouble with my last LG.

I bought the 75" version of this from WMT on black Friday. The TV is great, when it's running smooth. Mine constantly freezes and reboots. The TV struggles to properly connect to my dolby Atmos surround sound

Worst thing this TV has going for it is that it is from 2020 and TCL had not adopted HDMI 2.1 yet. That is a big issue if you were planning to game from a modern system like a PS5, series x, or PC with a GPU that has that. Other than that, great TV. The software is no glitchier than any other smart TV as it ages. That is a problem with all smart TV's imo.

Has this been in stock for anyone? This insanely popular TV was Sold out before the Super Bowl in 2021 IIRC.

Bigger (75"), newer, with almost as good of Rtings review on Costco.com that is available for $499. Probably one of the better budget TVs for darker rooms.

Like, where are these coming from at this point? It really makes you wonder if these were floating on a barge in the Pacific for 2+ years or something.

This TV is awful. $34/year in energy cost? What a scam

Not miniLED, but seems like a good TV set at that size / price
