Any indication that this switch has any functionality without the DDS15 switch? This appears to be built purely for three- and four-way designs using the DDS15 as the primary switch.

I was able to use a laptop to indeed confirm that the model in this deal is only intended as a companion for 3-Way or 4-way operation. Quoting Leviton here:

Quote :

This is a companion device intended for 3-way and multi-way applications only. A primary Decora Smart or Decora Digital Switch, Dimmer, or Fan Speed Controller is required to control the load.

I was initially confused by the diagrams for installations without a neutral wire, where the load is actually connected to the hot wire used by the companions(!). Of course, some buyer here may have more insight but otherwise this device isn't of interest for anyone who isn't willing to buy further into the Leviton control system.

Penny is usually code for trash it so the fact you got out of the store is rare. They will either take it from you or you will be forced to give it up before you leave without refund. The last one I question the legality of.
