About this product:
Pappardelle are consumed all over Italy and are part of the long, flat pasta family. They are excellent when prepared with sauces made from wild meat and game. They are also recommended for recipes with tomato sauce and cheese, as well as with creamy sauces, which spread well over the entire surface of the pasta.
Golden in color with a unique taste and texture from the addition of fresh Cage-free Grade A eggs
De Cecco selects only the best 'grano duro' (durum wheat) and extracts the core, the purest part of the wheat, to retain all the nutritional value
Signature pasta with the distinctive and unique De Cecco taste and the superior cooking performance renowned among Chefs
Pasta shaped through bronze drawplates to provide a rough surface to better capture and retain sauce
Slow-dried at low temperature to preserve both the original color and flavor of our durum semolina as well as retain all the nutritional value

Everyday price at Publix for DeCecco 1 lb dry pasta (all shapes and sizes) is $2.99. This is only a deal if you live in a region that has very high prices for good pasta.
Those are their standard run of the mill wheat pastas. Their pappardelle falls under their "egg noodle" category.
Different category, different size boxes, different price point. You aren't going to find their pappardelle in your local Publix for $3/lb.
1lb. packages of DeCecco pasta are on sale at Safeway/VONS for $2.50 ea. The Pappardelle is $2.50 for 8.8 ounces. I've never seen a larger package of their brand.
It goes on sale regularly around me for $2 for full lb boxes... I'm with the overpriced crowd but there's a dense Italian population around me so maybe we're getting a volume discount. If anyone has colavita around them they also make great pasta and it's typically much cheaper.
Ok....so this Pasta Manufacturer is listed as: DEATHVOMIT RECORDS....hmmm
So does that mean after the food product inventors created and tasted it, that they barfed so frequently and died and this established a new "World Record" for" Pasta Barfings that Lead to Death?
I know the family that makes this pasta in Italy. It's high quality stuff.

You might want to double check that. I also live in a heavily Italian American populated area, and the markets near me always sell this 8.8oz package anywhere from 3.99-5.99 depending on the sale. Considering these are supermarkets and margins are pretty tight, it's hard to believe that a double sized package would sell for half the price.
I ordered two for subscribe & save and they arrived today. Both were badly damaged/crushed by other things in the same box. I did the online chat and they'll refund me. It's only a couple of bucks each, but had to request out of principle.

It gave me a coupon, so my subtotal was $1.99. That's a super reasonable price and a good portion for a couple to have a nice dinner.
