Speaking of games!....This is a potentially serious issue! What they're doing is resorting to intentionally debilitating the app/website at certain times, so that you can't place an online order and use any of the offers! I can't attest to this occurring nationally, but there have been several complaints here on SD about the app/website being dysfunctional (or not functional) at times. I'm in the NYC area, and this seems to occur frequently in the early evening (peak time for ordering)! The offers disappear completely, and there's a message stating that online ordering isn't working! It's become routine (at least in my area), and I've confirmed it with several others at the restaurant (who are encountering the same problem). You can reinstall the app to no avail (I've tried it numerous times). When you attempt to use it again, you'll get another error message. You're just wasting your time spinning around in circles! Then, miraculously, an hour or two later, everything goes right back to normal (consistently)! I'm convinced that they're playing games! In a sense, this is actually another version of "surge pricing" (or whatever you choose to call it)! Once you're on the way or at the location, you'll be victimized by their game and be forced to pay full price! Most will be passive and deal with it (and that's exactly what they're depending upon). I'd strongly urge as many of you as possible to go elsewhere if you have a non-functioning app/website! If enough people do this, perhaps they'll stop playing this game. If you call them, they'll (of course) claim that it's a technical glitch, so that's just a waste of time! Perhaps it's only affecting certain areas, but the only way to combat this is to boycott Wendy's when they debilitate the app/website! If this is intentional (and it very likely is), then it's truly underhanded, and they deserve to lose business as a result....lots of business!
i dont think it's intentional, but their server is just absolute unreliable trash. They want everyone using mobile, so they can eliminate the "extra" employee at the register, so when the app is down, they are losing orders.
As for the offers, if you load your offer into your account beforehand, there's a good chance it will be available for purchase at the register, even if mobile ordering is down.
The app issues are probably because of high demand. Happens a lot with this web stuff, even McDonald's app is crappy and they are the classic gazillion dollar fast food chain. I guess if you represented yourself pro bono you could eventually get a subpoena for all their docs and prove if they are stiffing you for a burger at lunchtime on purpose but what would be the damages? You didn't get a discounted burger when you wanted?

Most likely a crappy android messing with the app lol.

Nope! Approx. 30 customers (in two local locations) have confirmed that they're having the same infamous app crap out problem. Most are iPhones. Who said anything about "damages"?? How about just getting them to stop intentionally debilitating the app?? They recently proclaimed that they would increase prices at peak times (then pretended that they didn't and dumped the idea!). What's so outer-worldly about them intentionally playing games to limit the use of loss-leader coupons?? It just takes a little bit of imagination to agree that this is certainly a (good) possibility!

Not sure where you're located or what phone you're using, but the McDonald's app has been 90-95% rock solid reliable for quite some time! Even when they're offering even crazier deals than Wendy's! There was a time when the McDonald's app was pure crap and it took forever for them to figure it all out, but these days, I'll take the McDonald's app over that POS Wendy's app any day! Now, in terms of the food, that's an entirely different story!🤢
you guys on here commenting about saving some money on a greasy burger? I had one today and it's greasy and plain. Makes me feel tired and crappy all day. Not used to eating these type things but it definitely makes you feel tired and gross inside.

Agreed on the greasy part. And beef can make you feel crappy....but not sure what you mean by "plain". Burgers themselves are typically "plain" (unless you prepare/cook them yourself). With these fast-food style burgers (and even some at better restaurants), you need to rely upon toppings and sauces to make them more palatable. Not sure how you ordered it, but disagree about it being "plain" (unless you're referring to the meat itself, and then it's a no-brainer).

One thing to watch out for is buying these too close to 1030am. Twice now (2 different locations) they've given me the smaller patties instead of the proper thick ones. The first time they gave me 4 small ones, which seemed fair enough. Today they only gave me 3.
This made me investigate the nutrition data, and it turns out the small patties are exactly half the size of the big ones. Which means the 3-patty double was actually a Dave's One And A Half.
I went right before 1030 so i could pick up the Tmobile french toast, and then grab a Double in the same trip. There were other times around 1030 where i got the right patties, but seems to me like it's a crap-shoot.

My local Wendy's is right next to a Burger King so I usually get this deal and go next door to BK to use the free fries with $1 purchase coupon. Dave's Single, large fries and two chocolate chip cookies for only $2 for my Sunday free day is a great deal.
Just as an FYI....McDonald's currently has big macs and double cheeseburgers for $2 in their app. Once a day until 3/24. Not a recommendation, but the daily option is a better option. You can also create multiple accounts (with multiple email's), but you'll have to wait 15 mins. between orders. If anyone has a workaround to avoid the 15 min. delay nonsense, please respond.

If you order from wendys at night the prices are slashed in half, well atleast the night I took this screenshot they were. This was right before there announcment so maybe they were testing it. https://ibb.co/fSQ9WCt

Perhaps in Citrus Heights, CA. Never occurs here in NYC. Was this the first time you saw this? I would ask them what the "deal" was? Is this a routine thing? During what hours? If these prices reflect 50% off, then the regular prices at this Wendy's are very high (certainly higher than average)! Has anyone seen these night-time price reductions at their Wendy's?

So here's an extra data point on the app freezing you out of your offers.
I have two phones, a work phone(iPhone) with Verizon service and personal phone(android) with Boost mobile service.
My work(iPhone) on Verizon never experiences any app glitches.
My personal Android on Boost, the app glitches all the time at seemingly the most inopportune times.
I have two separate Wendy's accounts on the phones so what I've done is began logging into my glitchy account from a web browser on my iPhone. Once I do that, the app on my Android phone miraculously starts working again. Wendy's is definitely doing shady things but there's no way it'll be proven. And I put up with it because their app deals are better than any other burger chain and the food is good too
