Don't be that dirt bag that uses a tool for two weeks then returns it because he found a shinier toy. Grampas weeder is a solid tool and sounds like there's nothing wrong with yours, if you had not used sure return it. Otherwise stop whining over the $15 and enjoy what you have.

Looks like this is going on clearance. I found it on Grainger. $27.12 if you have one of their stores nearby and free pick up otherwise shipping is like $12. I'm in Sacramento and was able to order it and get free pick up for a total of $29.36. https://www.grainger.com/product/...ess-49AJ37

Got this as a FP deal for $22 in Jan 2020. It's still working great after four years. Picking up a second one so we don't have to take turns using it.

This is a really good price and this thing really does work. Just note, it will take chunks out of your lawn, so you might want to go around with a bag of top soil as you remove weeds. Oh, and Fiskars does really stand behind their lifetime warranty - so, if you buy this, you can expect a lifetime of use.

It works decently. You have to line it up well to get it to grab. A person kneeling with a small hand weeder would be more efficient, but then you couldn't stand.

It works much better on plants with tap roots than fibrous roots. There's a fair amount of people that break the lever arm, but it is warrantied.

I just ordered the Grampa's Weeder a week ago. I used it for like two weeds to test it and it seemed to work okay. This one is 15 bucks cheaper though so I think I'm going to return that and get this instead. Anyone had both though and have a comparison?

Works well but it does come up with lots of dirt along with it. The larger holes seem to attract new weed seeds making them difficult to remove.

I agree with your sentiments, but this is Slickdeals, so I can't fault him for going with a slicker deal.

I bought this last week and it saved us a tremendous amount of time and back pain. The comments about it creating holes are accurate though but it's still worth it to me.

One note because it happened to me twice: I pulled up two buried cables that were buried only an inch or 2 deep.

These are great tools for people with back or knee problems or older people who can't get up and down to weed by hand.

They make quick work of broad leaf weeds with deep roots like dandelions, but for weeds that don't have a central mass to grip, these aren't great.

As other mentioned, they bring up all the dirt around the root with them which means you either bat it off with your hand and back into the hole, or you fill the hole with other soil. But, you can also fully remove 100 weeds in a few minutes as long as you can get the tines into the soil—you'll have to move river rock away or wet very dry/hard soil but otherwise you just line it up, stab down, and rock it out.
