Lenovo Outlet also has same configuration. Anyone know if cashback sites like RetalMeNot and the Amex $100 statement credit work when purchasing from the outlet store? The URL is still Lenovo.com.

I paid more than this for the 5i with a 13th gen i7 and a 4070, similar specs otherwise. Arguably the best spec you could buy for a still semi-portable laptop, and a pretty great value. No issues with my Lenovo and the only regret I have is not getting the 7i over the 5i.
As long as you don't fomo versus OLED/mini-LED screens of the 2024 laptops, this is about as good a 4090 laptop deal as you're likely to see between now and the summer July/Aug back-to-school sales.
Don't let the refurb scare you. I bought the 4080 version of this Legion laptop from this seller last Nov for $1997 w/ 10% tax & shipping (I was too slow to get in on the 4090 at that time). Laptop was in excellent condition and booting it up everything was as it should be. Not loaded with bloatware. Major bonus points to the seller (New Jersey based if I remember right) because I ended up returning the laptop when the OLED Steam Deck was announced the next day, and the return process was easy.
Battery life on DTR laptops is complete garbage of course, even if you do all the tweaks like ThrottleStop, undervolting, etc. If this laptop will primarily be used as a desktop replacement (preferably connected to a large external monitor for dual screens), it is as good as you'll get for a decently portable extremely high-powered laptop. Definitely a better machine than my solid-and-built-like-a-tank gen 1 Alienware m15.
Or… for the same price you could build a more powerful desktop AND buy a non-gaming laptop with better battery life. Apples and oranges.
I bought one in January for 2199 and added a 4TB drive and upgraded to 64GB for video editing. Has worked like a champ for the 2 months I have owned it. Arrived in a plain box but appeared as if new. Had 11 months left on the Lenovo warranty plus the extra year from eBay.
I travel every weekend so needed a powerful laptop that I could use to replace my desktop. When I am at home it powers two 27" 4k 144hz monitors no sweat.
Highly recommend if you need this sort of power.

Wow you got hugely ripped off. My 7i with i9 1300hx and 4080 was 1,800.

Yeah. COVID prices. Still satisfied if only a little sad I didn't save the money, but the time I got to near immediately spend playing games at a much better experience was worth it honestly.
Good luck, you'll be waiting till at least 2025 to get that price for this model. Black Friday won't do much for mobile 4080/4090 pricing since neither AMD nor Nvidia will be releasing anything better this year.
