They have what appears to be the same one as a kit with charger and battery for $199 too, so essentially a $65 2.5ah battery and charger if you need it.

Not a bad price if you already have batteries. This is definitely the trimmer to go with. It's a carbon fiber rail, and still has some weight to it. I can't imagine what the non-CF version would be like, but I'm sure it's even heavier.

Great hedge trimmer! Bought one recently from someone off Facebook marketplace for $100 new in the box with the battery and charger. Cuts just as good as my Echo hedge trimmer

You said it. Dual side hedge trimmers are an accident waiting to happen.

How does that compare to:
EGO Power+ HTA2000 20-inch Hedge Trimmer Attachment for EGO 56-Volt Lithium-ion Multi Head System , White:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BFJS984/

For those that have the multi-head system? I also already have batteries and chargers, so I just need the bare trimmer. TIA.

It's brutal and actually deters me from wanting to use it and I am in great shape. Using a heavier battery actually helps counterbalance the tool but it will wear out your forearms long before the battery dies. If you just want to get out there for a quick cleanup this is not the tool for you but perhaps if you want to spend a half day working on a tall hedge go for it.

I ordered this one hoping for some relief from that beast.

although safety is one aspect, the guard would be useful to sweep the cuttings off the top of hedges more efficiently.

I'm in the market for a hedge trimmer. What can happen that makes it dangerous and better if it has a guard?

That was my thought, I used this outside for quite a while (my hedges were unruly) and I never thought any part of it was unsafe, just a bit heavy, and I was using this carbon fiber one.

I've had this for a year or so and would recommend. I cut hedges a few times a year and it does a great job.

Thanks, that's really good feedback. I'll get the one from this deal then.
