Extremely random but, my great aunt was Anne McCaffrey. I only met her once since she lived in Ireland but, she would send me copies of her books when I was a kid.

I have a vivid memory of her calling my Grandmother to make sure I received my package from her for Christmas. She was so excited because the first books were released on cassette tape, and she wanted us to hear them. LoL.

One of the very best series I've ever read, up there with Asimov.
Read them in order, though.

I read essentially all your great aunt's Pern books as a kid.

Kind of envious, got to admit. The Dragon riders of Pern we're the very first books I bought for myself when I was like 9 or 10, way back in the 80s

The Dragonriders of Pern series is such an amazing fantasy classic. I remember reading these as a kid. Helped shape my love of everything fantasy.
