It's minuscule. It's ridiculous that they make them with such a small amount of storage. It's so they sell people iCloud space.
He probably edited his post.
128gb is quite small

I'd agree that the base model iPad is far and away the best choice for the vast majority of users. I'd include myself in that but I am spoiled by the optically bonded/laminated display that only the Mini, Pro, and Air have. Once they start putting that in all iPads. I will likely downgrade from my M1 Pro 11".

I'm spoiled by OLED so I can't buy an iPad at these prices until it has a better screen that it deserves

Yes, you are right. If OLED is the lowest screen you can live with (or be happy with), than that is great. If you don't mind, can you tell us the IPAD's you own and the prices you paid for them, and how old they are? Do you own other Apple products. I did own the very first IPAD made, lots of years ago. So this IPAD 9th gen is light years ahead on everything over first gen IPAD (so you can understand how I would be super Happy with the screen and everything else on IPAD 9th gen compared to my outdated very First IPAD. But if I had the most expensive IPAD PRO and was used to that screen, it might be hard for me to settle for non-OLED.

Same here, hopefully, the new iPad air 12.9 inch won't cost an arm and a leg so I can finally move up from the one I have now, I bet the storage will still be terrible though

Rumor has it the next gen iPad Pro's will be announced any day now. Expect previous gen prices to drop in the near future.

At my 74 yo age I need an iPad that I can c. I'm waiting for new iPads but I don't think I'll spend $1500 for an oled screen. I might revisit new iPad Air.

Yeah, Apple's storage and RAM sizes are starting to become a problem. Rumors are the new iPad Pros (due in possibly a couple of weeks) will start at 512GB/16GB, but will cost more (so like the iPhone 15 Pro where they ditched the 128GB option but didn't lower the price compared to the 256GB option on the 14 Pro). Guess that opens things for the iPad Air since its using the Mx chips, but they'll probably increase in price as well. And I think they were starting at an even more paltry 64GB.

This 12.9 ipad pro's screen is actually very good. It's miniLED with HDR. It shows HDR pictures and videos way better than my OLED Samsung tab S9+.

I'm in my 70's too, and I want one I can see too. Being out of the apple echo system for a number of years, I figured I would get Entry Level IPAD (9th gen IPAD) 64gb model. I love it, and I can get the fonts so I can see everything. For 249 dollars, It can do everything the more expensive models do for a causal user like me. 249 dollars was so cheap, I did think I would buy another one, but decided against it. If I find something that works PERFECT for me, I want to get 2 of them ... so I have backup. Curbing that impulse. Smilie

I bought the pixel 6a around Black Friday for 99 dollars, so the IPAD and pixel 6a both are really cheap and really good. I'm happy. Good luck to you in your next IPAD purchase.

This one has full USB-C speeds so you can add a small storage stick to travel around

I can't see that difference and with keyboard and track pad I rarely touch it

I have iPad 9th gen strictly for college because I got a good deal on it the other week for $160, iPhone 15 pro max & Samsung s24 ultra, 15" m1 max MacBook for editing on the go, OLED Samsung s8+ tablet for content consumption (again got a good deal from
Slick deals a few years back), 65" QDOLED Samsung tv in the living room, Alienware QDLED monitor & 48" LG OLED TV for my PC editing / gaming setup

I want to get an iPad Pro for photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, davinici resolve but am waiting for an OLED model to make it worth the purchase because other than that I can edit on my MacBook or PC, but my MacBook is too big sometimes to lug around lol. The iPad Pro will also replace my 9th gen iPad for school but I want to make sure if I'm going to spend 1k it'll have a beautiful screen that I'm use to

Hoping the new iPads announces this year will have OLED

Oh, for God sakes get the 11" I first purchased the 12.9 and my hand and wrist got tired from holding the damn thing! It is a thick, heavy beast! I brought it back and got the 11" so much better!

My mom has no need for anything greater than 128GB. She uses a 64GB iphone for years and never said one word about it running out of space. She uses it for surf the net, check emails, YouTube, FaceTime, the occasional spreadsheet and she accesses her photo albums she has saved in the cloud when we send her pics and vids of the grandkids, No reason to spend more on something she'll never use. I have a feeling that many her age group have no need for more than 128GB. Its crazy people complain when theres no options, and they do the same when companies offer more options.. SMH
