I'm 62 and used to use all the old school Zebco reels in the '60s and '70s growing up. I've gotten back into restoring the old ones because they are all metal, have metal gearing and work really well. If you're interested, look at some Johnson Citation reels on ebay. Lots of them are less than $20 shipped (especially if you can get them to agree to a decent price with a Make Offer deal) and should last a long, long time - much longer than some of the plastic reels that are made now. Here's a search for some of the Citations - [ebay.com] the 110B reels are great.
