Not trying to chide you. It was a fair question. Neither is necessarily better as they are so different. As mentioned, conventional reels are usually used for catfishing and saltwater. They are probably most commonly used to throw out bait. Baitcasters are the typical bass fishing reels. They excel at throwing things and retrieving them often. They do make saltwater baitcasters, but in general the drag and intended line weight/capacity are weak compared to conventional reels.

Not being a jerk, but if you are asking about these two reels differences, then you should probably start with a spinning reel. The Okuma Avenger is a great value. The Shimano Sedona is a nice entry to the midrange. I've been fishing decades, and I still love a spinning reel.

Pretty sure this is a 6:4:1 reel so a little slow.

One is a conventional reel and one is a bait caster. One is a reputable company, and the other is a Chinese direct-to-consumer brand without much reputation. They're very different.

I got you on the other points and I am not trying to diminish the deal, just asking out of ignorance, both are listed as bait caster. I get it on Chinese dtc vs a reputable brand.

The abu is a low profile reel made pretty cheap with a fancy brand. The one you linked is bigger profile and is typically used for bigger fish like catfish carp etc. The round reel is probably going to be easier to maintain, but if you ever break anything it's unlikely that you'll find parts for it. Brand Sougayilang is heavily sold on Amazon and the company isn't horrible to deal with (not sure about the seller). I've bought a few reels from that brand and they've replaced out the entire reel or parts for me in the past. No guarantees, obviously. The round baitcast reel is also going to hold a lot more line than the Abu so it's good for large lakes as well. On the flip side, Abu has better breaking system so it's more user friendly, albeit you'll likely still get backlashes if you're new. Abu is generally favored for bass fishing. Hope that gives you enough info.

As stated, it's not an apples to apples comparison.

What is your application for the reel? Have you ever used either style of reel? If so, do you have a preference to one over the other.

All of these are made in China. All of these business are based on a mode that directly buying designs from Chinese factories and put the brand name on it.

That's irrelevant in discussing differences, and you are wrong. Pure Fishing does design the Abu Garcia reels. I didn't mention anything about where they are made. All the points still stand. if you are trying to assist in the comparison, you didn't respond to the guy asking.

When I was a kid I used to be really good at building bird nests with these. 😂

Pretty much true everything these days. Sadly. But it's our fault, we won't everything cheap and American made but you can't have both. 🤷 ♂️
