I'm on 6th gen, I'll wait for 11th/12th. 11th for AV1 decode, 12th for huge single/multi performance increases.

Start linking some.

10th gen processors are compatible with Win11. It's only 7th gen and older that might not be officially supported.

The guy on the street corner screaming to the clouds is also warning people about something. But I don't put a lot of faith into it until he can cite some sources.

You can literally find someone online to support any crack pot theory you can dream of. Google lizard people and flat earth, for example. So simply searching "is wifi bad" doesn't really do much without actual scientific evidence as proof. Seeing how your response continues to be" just do your own searching", this tells me there isn't any hard data, or you'd be pushing it forward. Just because some people who collectively decided to agree it's bad and find comfort in their echo chamber doesn't mean it actually is.

Anything above 400nm wavelength (i.e., visible light, infrared, microwave, radio wave) is non-ionizing. It simply does not have the energy to remove electrons from atoms which is how gamma rays cause damage.

There is no way you are going to be harmed by any far-field radio waves (wifi, cell phone, 5g). It's just simply not possible based on physics.

You get 100x more ionization from 10 mins in midday sun than you do from strapping a cell phone with 5g on your head for 1 year.

ok, so you found Wifi is harmful.

and your point is ???

next do a deep dive into Cell Phones and come back. basics of EMF people, very basic; 5G gets even more interesting. bonus points if you unravel how dangerous 5 G is.

most will just Drive By, please don't be that guy.

I believe 90 day warranty. The main problems with a computer like this are the power supply and hard drive. They can go out at any time… maybe after a few weeks, maybe after a few years.
The PSUs and other components on these business machines are actually very good. The last thing Dell wants is to send out a local tech to repair. One tech visit basically negates any profits they make on a machine. A bad PSU is the main killer of components. With SSDs ymmv. Most of these just run Excell and outlook. You should be fine.

Also, Dell needs to get rid of these machines. If not, they need to be pricly processed as e-waste per law. So prices will always go down until someone buys. But so will the selection.

fail. you must have talked to the cell phone company.

try real scientists not tied into the corporate borg. takes effort, but the results will be different.
It's basic physics, but hey if that's not enough for you, keep on fretting buddy.

Business computers are just running Excel Office, and the web. Nothing intensive that's "" wearing these things down.

This is a used off lease computer that was probably used quite heavily in a business setting. It has a tiny hard drive that most people will need to upgrade and a a cpu that is 3 generations old. A current gen i3 will run circles around this thing.

There is absolutely no "deal" here. At best, this is fair market value for a 3 year old machine that, even in its day, had low end specs.
Not sure how they would be heavily used. They likely sat on a desk for three year running chrome, teams, excel, and outlook. Of course a new computer would outperform this one, please link a new i3 computer for near same price. That's like saying a new car is better than 3 year old car of the same model. These machines would work great for someone needing a computer for general office tasks

They sat on a desk in a business office for 3 years and were powered on and used for 8 to 10 hours per day. I would consider that heavy use. I never said a new computer was cheaper, but you should be able to find a new consumer grade computer with a modern i3 and a larger hard drive for around $300 to $400 (also a better warranty).

Your car analogy is not applicable because car performance does not advance significantly over a 3 year period. CPUs on the other hand, advance considerably over 3 years. If you look up the benchmarks for the 10th generation i3 in this deal and compare it to the benchmarks for a 12th or 13th generation i3, you will find that the performance increases by 50% to 100%.

Having said that, the computer in this deal is perfectly capable for general tasks as you mentioned. But is it worth the $225 price? Like I said, this is not a "deal". This is fair market value, at best given the age, prior use, and limited warranty.
