Wonder how many broken jars I will get, with sauce all over the place? Amazon packing is horrible.
They've gotten to the point of tossing a 12" strip of that recyclable paper in the box, sealing it up, and calling it good. I'm genuinely surprised when I get something that isn't damaged in some manner.
Amazon has gotten really bad and people still make excuses Amazon. It's really wild.

You should try Hunts if you think Prego is bad. Hunts requires a lot of help to even be edible. Needs brown sugar, garlic, and crushed red pepper to make it edible.
Hunts straight up needs tomatoes. It's like water, tomato paste, and xanthan gum as a thickener and yet when you let it sit the whole thing separates anyway.

Amazon has really stepped up their shipping lately. I haven't had a broken package in a year or more and I order plenty of liquids, food, automotive fluids, etc.

I think it depends on where you live. I live next to two huge distribution plants. They're probably operating at a scale where the returns and complaints were actually impacting their revenue.

classico or bertolli
I'd be interested to see all the naysayers blind taste tested the two. Those two brands are just as thin and factory produced and have similar ingredient profiles.

The feels like how Americans think canned tuna is disgusting but Italians use it all the time

Once I tried Rao's, I stopped buying other brands. It is expensive, so I make pasta less often - Quality over quantity.

Rao's didnt do it for me to justify the price. i use a can of contadina san marzano style tomatoes, and cook it with a bottle of prego basil and roasted garlic. comes out well balanced for me. not overly sweet, and just enough spices.

Ordered one of these a couple of months ago. Jar was fine - bubble wrapped and there was a big wad of packing paper preventing the items from bouncing around the box. Your expectations may vary.
You are lucky mine was broke.

This is close to my recent refinement: EVOO/olive oil to saute' rough chopped onion & crushed garlic clove, while that cooks BLEND / FOOD PROCESSOR one can whole tomatoes, add & simmer 5 min, add jar Prego Garden and done. If no time, the above Prego basil & roasted garlic works, or just blended whole tomatoes & garlic salt, oregano. Time saving option: add pasta to bowl of sauce & microwave it till al dente, no pan of water, option to microwave olive oil w 1/4 onion chopped for a minute, then add sauce & dry pasta and microwave.
UPDATE: based on above comparison video, I need to try NEWMAN"S OWN to sub for Prego above, watch for Rao or MUTTI to be on sale.

Very useful video, matches and enhances what I've seen on America's Test Kitchen: Rao's is better but pricey, and these guys add two new options: NEWMAN'S OWN best lower $ option, and
MUTTI's even better than Rao's. Great find!

It's easy to make your own Prego sauce:

1 x 32oz can crushed tomatoes
1 x 8oz can tomato poaste
1.5-pound (3 cups) sugar or 30oz corn syrup.

Heat, stir well, serve.

Bought Prego several times and never had a broken one. Can't remember the last damaged item I got from Amazon.

Lower sodium was also included. As mentioned above, coupon only good on 1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00100YIPM
