Not really. There were lots of comments stating the Klipsch are good, and the measurements are pretty typical for a speaker of this size. A lot of people complain about the lack of bass, but those morons don't understand that a 4 inch woofer can't match a much larger one simply because of the laws of physics. That is going to be true regardless of brand of speaker. These are highly reviewed by people who have actually purchased them, with 4.7 stars on Amazon with over 5,000 reviews, which to me is more important than measurements, which don't always accurately represent how speakers will sound.

the review also says that they have sharp highs and don't have the balanced tonality of the Pioneer SP-BS22-LR, which is what I have in my living room right now - found them for $60 on marketplace a couple weeks ago. You can get them for perhaps a bit more on ebay, but around the price of these.

if I was going to spend $100 I'd try to find something better than these, based on the reception I'm seeing online from people who have some idea of what they're talking about. I don't put a lot of stock in Amazon reviews when such a huge % of people are happy with soundbars, Bose, etc. If someone is looking into passive bookshelf speakers I assume that means they have a passing interest in higher audio quality, so might want to keep looking unless they really aren't picky.

100% I like some speakers that don't measure perfect (SVS Ultra Bookshelf), and don't like some that he does (Revel M106), but if it measures this bad you probably will hate it or grow to hate it.

They're $100/pair speakers. Of course they get a bad review there. The standards and expectations (and acceptable budgets) of most of the folks on that site are way different than your average joe who's used to built-in TV speakers and soundbars. And for someone looking at $100/pair speakers on Slickdeals, that's probably closer to the audience.

These are very much budget speakers, but when you consider the price range, they're not that bad. If you want some decent starter speakers or something to use for rear surrounds, these are ok. If you're expecting audiophile quality, you're not going to get it here (or anywhere in this price range).

Are these good to replace Jamo bookshelf speakers for surround speakers?
Well, considering these Klipsch bookshelves effectively are Jamo bookshelves, there wouldn't be much difference.

I use those for desktop speakers, got them for $60 at Costco about 2-3 years ago. They aren't the best but not the worst.the size is just right and the bass is decent for a 4". Build quality is fairly good and they have nice magnetic grills.

They are powered by a loxjie A30 amp. I have them on 6" angled stands and that made a huge improvement in sound because it reduced the boundary effects and it freed up space underneath them for storage. I would recommend if you're looking for something this size / price.

well, for around the same price or less, I would recommend people look into something like the Pioneers I mentioned - if you can find them. By most accounts they'll get you much better sound than these.

Would these be good replacement surrounds over speakers from the Energy Take 5 Classic set? I got a 7.1 set up with Klipsch floor-standing for fronts, Klipsch Ref Premier center, and 4x Energy surrounds. I think the Energy sound great but they're two decades old at this point (bought the setback in 2008 or something) and one of the speakers is dying (volume output is non-existent even with level setting for that speaker at max).

That is not true at all. Klipsch speakers have a higher sensitivity rating than their Jamo line does. Different material for the speakers as well and it takes less wattage to get them going then the Jamo speakers. I myself have the r14m models which were the predecessors of the r41m. I use them in a 9.4.4 setup as height channels and for that they are fine. I would say the best scenario for these is height or surround. You could also pair these with a 10 inch powered sub for a great sounding 2 1 system for a pc or similar system.

Yes, these would suck as fronts or as computer speakers. For surrounds or elevation to have something small that visually matches my RP-600M front and 504C center… GREAT!

When they came out with the new RP line the smallest size was the 500. No 400M any longer. Makes sense, but I want surrounds to be visually very small so my space looks nice (it already has enough large black boxes with the stereo, TV, L, R, and center).

If someone knows of a very small surround that sounds better please let me know. For the price, being small, and matching my mains. I like. Hopefully the sound is middle of the road. That's all I need from surrounds.
