if I was going to spend $100 I'd try to find something better than these, based on the reception I'm seeing online from people who have some idea of what they're talking about. I don't put a lot of stock in Amazon reviews when such a huge % of people are happy with soundbars, Bose, etc. If someone is looking into passive bookshelf speakers I assume that means they have a passing interest in higher audio quality, so might want to keep looking unless they really aren't picky.

These are very much budget speakers, but when you consider the price range, they're not that bad. If you want some decent starter speakers or something to use for rear surrounds, these are ok. If you're expecting audiophile quality, you're not going to get it here (or anywhere in this price range).

They are powered by a loxjie A30 amp. I have them on 6" angled stands and that made a huge improvement in sound because it reduced the boundary effects and it freed up space underneath them for storage. I would recommend if you're looking for something this size / price.

When they came out with the new RP line the smallest size was the 500. No 400M any longer. Makes sense, but I want surrounds to be visually very small so my space looks nice (it already has enough large black boxes with the stereo, TV, L, R, and center).
If someone knows of a very small surround that sounds better please let me know. For the price, being small, and matching my mains. I like. Hopefully the sound is middle of the road. That's all I need from surrounds.
