In addition to the optical drive, the Acer also has come USB 3 Gen 2 (10gb/s) ports.
It's really that simple. The sooner everyone figures this out the better off we'll all be.

I do see where they say 1 year warranty, I would suggest anyone who buys this to immediately register with HP and make sure it is actually giving you the 1 year warranty.

My 2 cents.
Not sure if it can be had cheaper. I bought mine $100 used on eBay. 16 gb RAM a bit is overkill for Plex too. Mine has 12 GB and I don't think it ever goes above 4 GB usage, even while transcoding. I guess media playback is a CPU intensive task, not a memory intensive one.

However, the only reason to transcode at all is if your network can't sustain what you're trying to stream or you have an odd device that can't decode video files directly.
For example, a Raspberry Pi (4B or better) will host a Plex server and can handle multiple 4K direct streams at once.
I would test out direct stream and see if your network can handle it. If so, that change alone will bring your electricity bill down, since the processor won't be working as hard.
Refurbishment isn't a bad thing, provided they actually got refurbished.
In fact, in-warranty refurbishment is actually better than buying something new and then discovering there's an issue. Both products could potentially have an issue, but one got resolved before it got to you. When it comes to avoiding the logistics of having to send something back, that should only benefit you.

They all look like a good basic desktop. It's everything my son needs for school and I can add graphics or a better CPU down the line, if I want.
Can it fit expansion graphics?
