720p is still considered "high definition."
The most you can get out of a DVD is 480P (720x480).
Ralph Kramden won't take it out until it's full - full.
Basically, ANYTHING that was originally recorded to video tape instead of film, because the video tape itself has a very finite resolution that cannot be improved. Film, you can go back to the original media and do a new digital transfer with improved scanners, but that's just not possible to do with tape. That's why you can make an amazing HD transfer of movies from the 1930's, but you'll pretty much never see a Blu-ray release of most TV shows from the 1980's or 1990's.
And unlike the fact that a DVD player couldn't play a VHS tape, a 4K Blu-ray player is still capable of playing back DVD media. Video tape use instead of film actually started much earlier than the 1980's as well for some content, the oldest example I know of that I can rattle off the top of my head would be Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Guess DVDs are still desirable after all.

And yes, I still have multiple Blu-Ray players in my house too, so all you've proven is that you've never been to my house .
A lot of PC or laptops doesn't even include Blu-ray drives, like they did with headphone jacks. I'm sure people who still use old laptops have a DVD-rom on it.
It's like there's people who still buy old console games because it's finally affordable to them/don't need the latest and greatest resolution/etc.
It's almost like arguing "wow it's 2024, people are still driving gas?" sure, blu-ray/electric is better, but it still works for some people... Now VHS is still a pain to rewind and skip... DVDs has the same convenience as Blu-ray except lower resolution. There's some movies that still to this day don't even get a proper Blu-ray release
