I had to install their driver software for this to work natively on Windows 11. Not a huge fan of needing to use some 3rd party chinese driver software (that has to stay installed and running) just to use a USB wifi card.
A lot of USB wifi devices can easily use the generic realtek or broadcom drivers included with windows. I don't like the security implications of having to trust a third party software that's always running and could easily harvest info from your machine without you knowing. This is especially true for a brand that either manufactures or uses white label parts for all manner of electronics from wifi cards to battery packs. I would be less apprehensive if this software requirement was the case for something from Netgear or Ubiquiti because they have a brand reputation to lose for bundling nefarious software.
For me I want a stick I can put in a Linux or Win machine for almost instant connection for diagnosis, if I am using one there is a really good chance I won't be able to download anything. I have a different one I use sparingly for my TV and when I need it for testing it is nothing to plug and play in a machine without internet. No need to get a driver from the internet that I don't seem to have or find a jump drive, and boot a 2nd machine with the driver, find the driver, transfer the driver, install the driver.

I pay for plug and play.

Was looking for this to come back, thanks. Got tempted by WiFi 6 but settled for non-6 as it almost never makes any difference for ISP access (versus networking between computers which is rare).

AC is the old model. New stuff is AX. The AX is faster and more secure.

Right, the second product listed here (?!). And as I reminded earlier, AX provides no perceptible benefits because the fastest ISPs cannot saturate even the AC speed/reach threshold. Very very very few people network between computers in their household wirelessly, when AX matters - and anyone who does is probably smart enough to wire up.

If you don't want anything to install, the tplink version with a usb cord should do it. Plus it works with Qidi's latest klipper printers.
