If it's strong enough for storage packaging I personally wouldn't hesitate using it to ship boxes.

it can be used for both. it has acrylic adhesive which is long lasting compared to regular basic shipping tape, so it's ideal for storage. you don't want to use cheap shipping tape for long term storage

duck brand HD clear tape is our go-to. price has gone up substantially over the last 4 years, (like everything else), but we have found it works great for both storage and packaging/shipping

False. I used to work in a warehouse that used this to ship tradeshow equipment. Probably went through 50ish rolls before switching, this long lasting version is horribleeeeee for shipping. It doesn't hold due to poor adhesive, its horrendous on plastic containers, even worse on cardboard. The heavy duty blue version scotch tape has substantially better adhesive and feels thicker.
