I got 2. Not bright enough at all. These things are useless. No wonder they are on sale. Going back to store.

I miss the old halogen lamps that would burn your house down.

This is way brighter than I hoped. At least it is a warmer color and not white.

I checked a store that is 10 miles from me. It was the discounted price.
I checked the store closer to me and it wasn't discounted.
Try a few other stores in your area.
Good luck.

Neat little light. It isn't bad for the price, but is a little dim, and not being able to change the hue stink, but for $13 it's not bad.

Picked up two. Great price, the power supply cord is super thin and the wall plug gets pretty hot.

Luckily I still have mine and I've always had common sense to keep it away from curtains and any other flammables! I prefer the Halogen over the CFL and LED ones!

Got 4 but they are more like glorified standing nightlights. That's what I want them for anyway. Ambient lighting. They look futuristic too.

Only 500 lumens, so a bit less than a 60W light bulb. Works nicely as ambient/mood lighting but doesn't have enough output to be useful for more than that. Still liking mine, but know what to expect!

Only 500 lumen and 12 W equivalent. Wish it was dimmable.
The 12W rating for this lamp is the actual wattage. Mentioning equivalence might be confusing for some.

This is a 500 lumen source, which by the typical measure of incandescent equivalent would be only slightly brighter than a 40W incandescent lamp (which would have been around 450 lumens). That makes this light fine for adding accent to a light controlled room (say, a room you want to keep dim but has a really dark corner/section). You're also paying a premium for the design vs. something that uses a traditional A-series screw-in lamp. However, this is far below something you'd actually use to add a meaningful amount to a room of any size.

On top of that, this light source is integral so when it fails the whole thing is e-waste.

And the light isn't even reasonably efficient as an LED source, since most any LED lamp you could grab that puts out 450 lumens will consume around 6W or less vs the 12W of this source. 80-100 lumens is generally the standard for efficient LED sources, though even the local Wal-Mart stocks options from Philips which can reach up to 180 lumens per watt(!).

Good luck!
Jon

That's the perfect use case. Highlighting for a light-controlled room, and something bought for design.

Good luck!

Lumen is a confusing unit. I guess 500 lumens isn't bright enough. When I search LED light bulbs on Amazon, the top results were 750 and 800 lumens.
800 lumens is a standard rating associated with the (now historical) 60W incandescent lamp.

Good luck!

In for 3. Thank you OP.

Received a cancellation email 30 minutes later stating it is out of stock. Hrmmmm....HD employees probably snatched them.
They did you a favor. They are junk. Literally can't be near anything and not bright

They are not the brightest but not as dim as others are saying. It is going to be good for a spare room light or when you want a little light and not be overwhelmed
