Conversion to natural gas takes more than an adapter, usually requiring a replacement of the whole manifold and Webber won't sell you the part without the serial number for one originally built as a natural gas grill.

However, if budget allows, get the Genesis over the Spirit. The Genesis is an old school true Weber built like a tank that will last for decades. Whereas the Spirt is a cheapened up version for the throwaway generation.
Or, if budget doesn't allow for the Genesis, take a look a the Q-Series Weber. Smaller, and also built like a tank that will last forever, with lots of accessories and modifications available.
The confusion with this is because it only shows options for certain delivery markets and not for others.
For my default address there were no options available, when I changed to NY it showed options with free assembly available.
Great deal if you live in a free assembly area but YMMV on this one.

Edit: now that I'm thinking more about it, I think it took a while. It's not rocket science but is tedious.
Also, I feel like every once in a while I've seen grills like this go down to around $300, but maybe I'm mistaken
